The Positive Small Kahr Thread

Hi All,

After reading about problem after problem, I thought it may be good to talk about my positive experience with my CM9. I am not new to Kahr and have had a bad K9 (had the NATO barrel from the factory), two bad PM9's and one great PM9. Fortunately, I'm now up to a 40% success rate I put 235 rounds through my new CM9: 100 WWB, 100 Federal Champion, a few PMC Bronze and some Speer Gold Dots (124 grain, standard pressure). I cleaned it between range trips with the first trip consisting of only 100 rounds. It chewed on the Gold Dots like they were bacon for guns. The gun shot great, though I suck with it compared to my Glocks.

K9, CW45 (since sold), MK9 (since sold), PM45 all with minor to no problems.

My CM9 flawless, CM40 flawless. A few FTRB and failure of slide to lock back (less than 10 total) on my CW380 during first 100 rounds. The CW380 is now 100%. Simply understanding that small guns with super tight tolerances need to be smoothed out. With that being said, I would not expect the same out of my Sig 226 as its large with greater space between the moving parts and a less steep feed ramp.

500+ rounds through my K40...no issues at all. 200+ through my wife's CW9...no issues at all.

My Kahr ain't small, it's a for-tay! I am positive that it just keeps on work'n, no muss, no fuss. At least 3,000 rounds down the tube.

My CM9, flawless approaching 700 rounds. CW380..........meh. Numerous problems, but gradually getting them sorted out.

I'm breaking in a CM45, and after 100+ rounds, it smoothing out very nicely. I don't recall any failures in the last 4 magazines, 2 5 round and 2 6 round.
The only thing It needs is a bit of filling on the barrel hood that is keeping unfired cartridges from being ejected if they are a bit long. My CW40 had the same problem.

K40 - not a single hiccup even when I tried to cause one
MK9 - is a little sensitive to over lubrication and is easy to limpwrist but runs 100% with a good grip
CM45 - just finished the break in and is still getting smoother but is currently running 100%. This one likes to run wet.

I have a pm9 that's been good out of the box and now has over 4,500 flawless rounds through it. Eaten every ammo I put in it, no failures to feed, fire or eject. Could not be more happy with it!

I have a CM9 which is my EDC, and has run flawlessly since day one. Now over 2,000 rounds, all kinds, and I trust my life every day to it. I have tried other carry guns, but none have beaten out my CM9. I will probably get a CM45 this Spring, just waiting on the bugs to get worked out.

CW9-light primer strikes early on. A good cleaning of the striker channel, a new recoil spring and shooting more rounds fixed it.
K40-never an issue.
CW45-never an issue.
CW380-never an issue.

I have put 100 rounds of 230 wwb fmj and 100 rounds of 230 monarch brass fmj without problems. The punched out target above was done with 2 mags of monarch ammo at 7 yrds. After the break in period, I tried some wwb jhp and within 30 rounds I experienced 3 ftfs of which I account to bad ammo as the primer had very good indention. In conclusion, It has been the best money ($350) Ive spend on a handgun.

That's some really nice shooting.

My PM9 when new had a few issues but with help from folks here and parts from Kahr I got it all sorted out. PM9 is now far and away my main carry.

^^^ Same with my CW45. Paid $350. Shoots to POA . One big hole (big bullets). Does not like all ammo. 100% with ball and PowerBall
