  • 9k through the PM45

Yesterdays range session pushed one of my PM45 past 9,000 rounds and the other past 4,000. These pistols still amaze me on accuracy and ease of use from such a small gun. Most every round are my hand loads loaded on the HOT end of the scale. Powder-puff loads just don't cut it.

Awesome! Has the slide started to loosen up yet?

      That's great!

How often have you been replacing the recoil spring? Have you had to replace any other parts?

Wow! good to know. I am just getting started with my CM45. I only have about 400 flawless rds through it so far but luv it! I also wonder about recoil spring and any other parts that you may have replaced and when.

Awesome. I always like to hear about high round counts in a Kahr, or any brand pistol I own.

I think my PM45 had about 1000 rounds when I was stolen, but it had been flawless at that point. My new CM45 only has 250 and so far, no problems.

I have no idea how many rounds my "used" PM45 has, but its considerably looser than the "new" PM45 that went to the mother ship once. The looser pistol is 100 percent flawless, but the tighter and newer pistol still has a little breakin' in to do.

I'll go out on a limb and say once broken in and good'n loose, they seem to digest everything you can stuff in the magazine

The 9k PM45 is looser than the other as it should be.
The barrel/slide is still a tight fit with minimal DLC wear on the inside of the slide and very lite scuffing on the barrel and hood. It's the 3rd. set of recoil springs. The current recoil springs are the Wolff 20.5 lb. set for the PM9 trimmed to fit. They are a bit stiffer than the OEM set. The trigger bar was replaced at about 3500 rounds due to a reset problem. The reset "tab" was out of spec. At that time the trigger bar spring and safety block springs were changed. It's always had the Wolffs striker spring installed, never fired it with the OEM spring. It functions 100% with the 5 and 6 round mags, the mag springs are original. I'm going to try some Wolffs 1911 mag springs.

The only thing that would make the pm45 better is the hollywood conversion. You know, being able to fire 19 times from a 5 round magazine without reloading!
