  • Anyone ever see a PM9 frame defect like this?

I bought this on Saturday. Broke it down to clean and lube before I go to the range and I see this. I'll probably just sand/file it down myself but I think it's pretty crappy QC to let it get out like this. Also, on the inside of the slide there are a couple of nicks in there. My CM9 looks pristine under the slide. Anything I should worry about on the marks on the slide?

Some of you people are unbelievable......

What do you think it's going to look like in 20 years? How about 100?

I expect my Kahrs to be still running just fine even with a few character marks on them.

When you pay top dollar for a handgun a good fit and finish is to be expected. I wonder how many of you would be satisfied if you bought a new car and found the there was a dent in the hood. Kahr needs to do a better job on QC.

Exactly what Muggsy said! I can live with the flaws on the inside but the jagged polymer on the dust cover should have been caught. And I don't consider that a character mark, it's a FACTORY FLAW!!!

Are you talking about the frizzies on the poly frame? Can't see anything in the second pic; blown up too much. The Frizzies should easily sand off with fine sandpaper, if thats all that is wrong. But yeah, I agree Kahr should do better on QC. They also need to:
            1. Make strikers that don't break.
            2. Make metal followers instead of poly that breaks.
            3. Shorten the barrel ramps that the followers hit against.

Nevertheless, I don't know of any company out there that makes as good a gun for slightly more than $300. I've had Zip issues with my three.

One more question: I just noticed this little pin (not sure) protruding from the bottom of the frame. That can't be normal. What could cause that?

If it's the pin by the trigger you are referring to, it locks the trigger pin in place.

Yes, that's what I'm talking about. But, is it supposed to be a hole in the polymer right there? Just seems odd.

Yeah, that's how they are done. The retaining pin is driven into a blind hole in the frame from the outside. That type of installation suggests that it's not intended for that pin to ever be removed. The pin is normally seated flush (or near flush) with the frame. We seen reports of a couple that walked out a little, but were easily remedied with a punch and hammer.

Thanks Greg. I appreciate the information. I put 220 rds through it yesterday without a single malfunction. I love how it just disappears IWB.
