  • I never did send my CM9 in! I had an inspiration and tried ONE MORE thing

I had a dream last night about the one gun that has plagued me since I bought it three months ago, my CM9.

The dream was me comparing the CM9, MK9 and K9 slide lock springs and see what the different is.

The K9 has a completely different set up, but the MK9 is nearly identical to the CM9.

The big difference between the 5,000 round count MK9 and the PIA CM9 was the slide lock spring tip was pointing higher up than the MK9 spring. The screw tension has nothing to do with this so I loosened the screw and pushed the tip down 5mm, until it stopped and tightened it up. Now it appears to operate and sit in the same position has my beloved MK9.

I wish I'd done this before I went shooting early today. But has I was cleaning my K9 I remembered the dream from last night.

I hope it worked. Can't shoot until Monday. It's killing me to see it this worked!!

I hope that the fix works out for you, Jim. I like it when a plan comes together.

Good luck with your fix. Sounds like that spring might have been the problem.

I made a good living all my working life making machines work that other people gave up on. Was very successful. My secret was to keep my eyes open and use common sense. Never did get one of them there "deegrees" people are so fond of. Didn't have time. Sounds like you know the secret!! Hope it works for you. Let us know. I like to learn something new every day.
