Round Jammed in Chamber, Now What

I have a PM9. One of my hand loads has stuck in the chamber. It didn't fire, but I can't rack the slide to get it out either. Any suggestions?

What I do is get ya a dowel that will fit down the barrel, a piece of aluminum rod, or a cleaning rod even although you might ruin the cleaning rod.

Then either clamp that rod in a solid vise or just put it on the ground end up like. Put the rod in your barrel and kind of tap the nose of the cartridge while at the same time trying to pull the slide back.

Your case is apparently just a tad long. I had a few handloads do that in my PM45.

Might have to tap it pretty good but it'll pop out of there.

???....not familiar with this gun...so this is a shot in the dark!

Can you put a small punch in the rear of the extractor and push it in enough to release the rim? If so....then you may can pull the slide back and lock it open.
The round is still charged!- right?

I have punched out a squib before, but never a live round. I'd be nervous!

Another thing to try is to find a wooden work table that you don't care too much for, or perhaps a 2x12 board of a convenient length, and place the rear sight on the edge of it with the gun pointed downwards and push with your hand.
You can generate much more force that way to open the chamber.

You can do what Steve said, or put a work glove on your left hand, clam shell grip the slide with the heal your hand on the bench, gun over the edge, barrel pointed at the floor, and hitting the grip with your right hand.
if the gun opens but the round is still in the barrel, move on to the wooden dowel method already mentioned.

If you're not comfortable doing any of this, take it to a gunsmith.
I always remove the barrel from my Khars and drop test any reloads I plan to shoot thru them, as the Kahrs have the tightest chambers of any 9's I own.
Drop testing 100% doesn't take long at all.

I would not tap anything from front to back. That strikers free as a bird in there now. Clamp the slide, tap the back of the frame.

Did you notice it the primer had a dent in it?
I'm wondering if the slide completely closed on it?
