I just took delivery of a new CM9 and took it apart for cleaning and put the slide together and started to slide it onto the frame and it goes back until about a quarter inch from the rear where it sounds like it is hitting something which stops it from going further to the rear. Then it kind of locks up as when you are removing the slide with no front or rear movement. If I then tickle the trigger as told to do for removal I can then remove the slide. I called customer service and they said the recoil spring was probably not aligned and to remove the recoil spring and guide rod and see if I can then get the slide to move to the rear. I removed them and I can then get the slide on and to the rear. When I put the slide back together with the rod and spring I end up having the same problem. I realize that it must be the position of the spring and rod. So I tried moving it side to side with no help. I then pulled up on the rear of the guide rod where it sits on the barrel lug and walla it slid back and I got it back together. I was surprised to see it have to be positioned so exactly and and higher than I expected. I'm only posting this in case some other new owner runs into this and does a search as I didn't find anything when I searched but I might not have used the correct search words. Anyway I am waiting for my Uplula mag loader so I can go to the range and break it in all at one time without ruining my fingers trying to load at least 200 rounds into my mags.

@BobK. I have the same problem with my PM45. The slide hits the half circular part of the trigger bar that protrudes into the grove as you try and reinstall. I also have an additional issue where the side panel isn't flush. Maybe others have the same issue? Anyone ever send it back for this?

I just had my PM45 apart today for cleaning. My slide stop pin is still really tight and on reassembly I have to jiggle the trigger to get the slide back on. You can see the part rotate behind the back of the slide so it's easy to get past that part. I also have to be careful that the slide aligns properly to put the stop back in. The guide bar tends to stick a little, staying out front. I rack the slide a couple times and it drops back in.
is it me or is Federal dirtier than Winchester? I ran a mix last time (80-100 rounds) and it seems dirtier than before when it was all Winchester. Regardless, Hoppe's #9 is a manly scent.Sent from the ethers by magic.
Archeologists have discovered that ancient people loved to drink from broken cups.

+1, I have this issue on my CT380. I simply pull the trigger a little bit and it goes together perfect... I don't notice the side panel being non flush though..Originally posted by PMmichigan100 View Post@BobK. I have the same problem with my PM45.
