  • cm 9 disassembly update update- interesting

been a while. the ol' cm9 is misbehaving, again (after two trips to the mothership). i can't sell it, because it doesn't work. i have resolved to fix it myself (trust me, i know what i'm doing...). some time back, someone posted a link describing and illustrating how to completely disassemble the fabulous cm9. i printed it up (because i was having problems, and was going to fix it myself), and have since misplaced it. does anyone have knowledge (first hand, or a link) of how to completely dismantle a cm9? don't bother asking what it's doing (this time it is a trigger reset issue). it has suffered from every affliction known to the species, which is why i own only one. thanks in advance, the info is much appreciated.

i know you've all been waiting on pins and needles- i found several videos on youtube regarding this very problem, and it seems that it is usually temperature related. sure enough, the day at the range that i had problems was "cool" (about 30). now that it's in the house and warm, it functions perfectly.

It really should function perfectly at 30 but the lube etc may have gelled up and messed with you.

It really should never actually get that cold when its strapped to your belt. If it has to be left in the cold I'd run it dry so it'll still run if needed.

i have identified the problem! after chilling the gun in my freezer, it would not release the firing pin. when freezing the slide only, it functioned fine. when freezing the frame, it malfunctioned. the poly frame was swelling when chilled, restricting the trigger's range of travel just enough to prevent proper function (i never did like how it wouldn't release the pin until the very end of trigger travel). i disassembled the frame, filed a few thousandths off of the part of the trigger that limits travel (that's literally all it took), and it now functions perfectly regardless of temperature. as a bonus, the trigger feels even better.
