Being left-handed, I can sympathize with the driving predicament. I have solved (okay, maybe sort of solved) that problem in the past with a crossdraw holster and a .45 for a traveling 'companion' but compared to the PM9, my Commander needs a coat, or maybe a heavy blanket to cover it, but I could reach it while driving and strapped in.
I use a OWB scabbard style (vertical draw) because, honestly, I just can't seem to get comfortable with an IWB without radically altering my wardrobe or my lifestyle. I'm almost at the end of some wonderful vacation time (it's always wonderful), and managed to go about 2,000 miles with my PM9, using either the OWB on the belt or a waistbag (bellybag, or whatever you call that strap-on thing?) Both worked ok in the appendix position (sorry if I might confuse the issue- just can never remember which side my appendix is- no scar to help my memory). As an aside, along the way, i visited several local gun shops and acquired two 7 round extended mags for my PM9.
I was a little apprehensive about buying them, since I remember a lot of on-line discussion in the past about the 1st or 2nd rounds 'nose-diving and locking things up. Got home and yesterday test-fired both mags without any problems at all. Sweet! Good for carrying...
I got long fingers (shoulda been a pianist, I guess) but the longer I've had this PM9, the more I appreciate it! I carry either it, or a 9mm Shield, constantly."You can go a long way with a smile, but you can go a lot farther with a smile
and a gun."
