  • Saf-T-Blok Equivalent for CM9?

I have had my CM9 for a few weeks now and it continues to be great. Only two range sessions, but it has been 100% so far. I understand I may be chastised for asking this question!! But, I have a couple of Saf-T-Bloks for my Clocks - and I like them. I checked the froogle but I can't find an equivalent for Kahr's. I understand how the action works, but I would like a little more confidence in avoiding the disasterous consequences of a negligent discharge.

I have tried to adapt the little lock doohickey that comes with the Kahr's - but it isn't retained as well as the Saf-T-Bloks on the Clocks ... I would ask in advance for gentle and constructive comments (if any!!) - this isn't my first rodeo and I'm new only to Kahr's...Thanks!!

I haven't see any commercial products similar to the Safe-T-Blok for Kahr pistols.
I've read of people making their own out of closed cell packing foam and other materials.
Something along the lines of this: post #17 http://www.smithandwessonforums.com/...tml#post161507
    Maybe this: http://smith-wessonforum.com/136284514-post12.html

Have you seen the Recluse OS holsters? You might like their approach.

If you have a hobby store nearby, you can make an insert out of Sculpey easily, bake it until hard, then coat it in several layers of Plasti Dip rubberized paint. It will be a bit heavier than the foam, though, but the advantage should be if your fine motor control is lost, and you can't punch it out with your index finger, the weight should allow you to tap the grip of the pistol on your palm and knock it out of the trigger guard.

Thank-you Gentlemen! I have some direction now. I'm familiar with user Erich over on SWF - good info. I have heard of Recluse holsters but never researched them - and I've never heard of Sculpey. My feminine side ... ... likes the craft-sy way of doing things. i tried cutting up a large eraser but it would either fall out quickly, or be hard to remove, and the edges kept crumbling. Someone on SW Forum suggested using a primed case in the chamber and carrying that way for a month just to get comfortable with the trigger and inherent safety mechanism on the Kahr's. I'm going to go one step further and "kill" a couple of primed cases, just in case ... Thanks again!

How about this, take one of the two plastic trigger locks that came with your CM9. Use the one marked L if you're right handed. With sandpaper reduce the tight fit to one you're comfortable with. You could even use a piece of thin yarn to go through the hole and around the trigger guard. When SHTF, push it out. If this saves you money, the next time you see me, buy me a beer.

LOL, I forgot about those things
I have about a dozen of them collecting dust. So I whittled on some of them to fit behind the triggers of my wheel guns. Haven't used them in a long time.
I don't have many revolvers left. Since I don't use them very often, I turned some over to my Sheriff neighbor to surrender for me.
Bawanna said he'd stop by and do that for me but he never showed up. All they were doing is collecting dust.

Yeah - those old scratched up revolvers ... I don't think even the Sheriff would want any of them... . Good use of the Kahr-trigger thingy's though!!

Old thread - but I found exactly what I was looking for. An outfit called Garrison Grip makes small rubber trigger stops - and they have a version for the CM9. They say it will fit all Kahr's. I've ordered a three-pack from Amazon and will report back ...
