  • normal wear and tear?

Most of you know this is my first handgun....i have 500threw it and it runs flawless so that tells me it is mechanically and tolerance sound and put together correctly?

Well i noticed cleaning it today, if you have it apart and the slide muzzle is towards you the left side of my pickup rail has a burr rolled over the edge that i can get my finger nail under.

If you hold the barrell horizatol with the 9X19 facing up looking straight at it the top left near the lug of the barrel is a slight burr or round over on that lil corner.

    Am i being overly anal?

You could polish those down, but those are normal. If you do polish them down, they should go away and stay away.

Those burrs really don't affect anything. Just the gun mating up is all they are. You could leave them too. If you feel like polishing them off, then it's a cosmetic thing, and entirely your call. Like I said nothing major. As for what you need, you can use power tools like a Dremel IF you have a steady hand. I would start with 600 grit sandpaper, and work my way through the grits to 2000, and finish off with felt tips and a Dremel type thing and some polishing compound. The sand paper will take a bit longer, but it gives much more control.

I'd sand it down smooth. I wouldn't want anything flaking off and getting wedged somewhere else, like the trigger/trigger bar assembly, striker channel, etc.

I'm glad I guess I got a "good" PM9 because I've read about this over and over again with the PM9 frames, but mine has been good to go. A few minor break-in "scratches" maybe, but definitely never any flakes, flashing, etc encountered with well over 2000 rounds through it.
