  • New to me (but old) PM9

Hey all, long time since I've posted, haven't owned a Kahr in a while. Just got this PM9 on a trade. I'll admit that I didn't know it was an older one when I got it. Serial # puts it a 2004 production (I think). It cleaned up really well (was kinda neglected when I got it in appearance) and it shoots fantastic! Shows little wear really. Perfectly reliable on the first range trip through 100 rounds of mixed range ammo, and very accurate. I love it. I'm a little frustrated that the dovetail on the slides apparently changed around 2005 I think (didn't know until after I got it) and I am apparently limited on my night sight selection because of it. I really need a new set of sights as the ones on this PM9 are burned out and the guy I got it from said he painted in the sights with white paint. Suggestions on night sights that are available still for this old style dovetail are appreciated. Thanks!

Also, is this one a "blunt nose" PM9 as I have seen referred to on here?

I thought the trigger felt good in this little guy! 10 pull average on the Lyman was 5.5lb.

        Nice pistol. Congratulations!

The trigger in my CM9 is also about 5.5 lbs albeit a little creaky.

Check the Kahr website for night sights. I thought I saw that they have some for the older models.

Thanks for the reply. Fortunately my trigger doesn't "creak". I saw the Trijicon ones on Kahr's website just now. Thanks for the referral there.

That is a blunt nose. Many prefer it over the newer style. It looks like a good one to me. Cleaned up nice.

Do you know what year they stopped using the blunt nose?

The switched the slide when the CM9 came out. Not sure of the date.

looks like the CM9 came out in 2011 so I guess here’s my answer. Thanks

My CM9's trigger was also creaky at first, but five minutes polishing the trigger bar and the inside of the apex of the trigger bar spring solved that. Now when I get a new Kahr, I do it as a matter of course. And a nice coat of grease helps a lot.

Dawson Precision sells sights for the old style dovetail---but if those are Trijicons they should be able to be re-lamped by Trijicon.
