  • Get a grip! Recommendations???

Hello guys and gals. I just purchased a PM9 (get to pick it up this Thursday) and need a grip solution. Apparently I have dainty lady hands and the stock polymer grips make it hard for me to maintain a secure, consistent grip.

I am looking into the AGrip material (I use it on my G19 and like it) but was wondering what the community uses AND WHY. What do you love/hate about your grip solution? Any recommendations?

My biggest issue with the PM9 is maintaining a consistent grip. I was thinking of something like the Pachmayr slip-on grips would be helpful (http://www.pachmayr.com/slip-on-grips.php) because of the finger grooves. Anyone have these on their PM9? if so what size and how do you like?

Thanks in advance. This is a great community and I look forward to participating - you guys have already been very helpful.

Those look real nice. Nice texture, seem to fit really well.

I use Hogue Handall Jr. as seen on one of my Kahr pistols.
          Now they all have one.

Thanks for the input guys. Any other suggestions welcome. I like the idea of the Hogue because of the finger groove. Anything that will provide a little more traction and surface area would be great.

A couple of years ago I bought a product called "WhataGrip" in the sporting goods department of some store. It's actually made for tennis rackets, but looks like it would work fine on a Kahr. It was only a few dollars and there's enough for 3 or 4 guns. I always wear a shooting glove on my right hand, so I've never used it.

Somebody else here, dang the memory is a terrible thing to lose, used that what a grip stuff. I've been meaning to get some but haven't stumbled onto yet. It reportedly works very well also.

I use the Hogues on my PM45, an upgrade from my bicycle innertube which worked just fine also.
I'm not sure they have a model that fits the PM9 tight enough, seems I've heard you have to wrap the grip with something first so they fit tight.

As suggested by someone else here, again I can't give credit since I forget who it was Vinikahr maybe??? I installed the Hogue upside down. It put the finger groove in a better place for my hand. Still looks like it was made for it which it obviously was. Even upside down.

Picked up my PM9 today (bought used from a dealer VC1 series) - needs a cleaning bad since I have been shooting the hell out of it during the waiting period.

Threw on a CT trigger guard and went ahead and ordered the Hogues - should have them tomorrow. Will post a pic and let you know what I think of the fit.

Thanks for all the input. If the Hogues don't work out, at least I have a few other options to try.

Would anyone think me unmanly if I ordered Purple?

So far, I am happy. I have had 2 Fail to fire's, but it was used (supposedly cleaned by store) and I have not had a chance to clean it yet. Field stripped it when I got home and it was D-I-R-T-Y! I will clean it up like new and try it out this weekend. For now, I am blaming the FTF on the gun just needing a little TLC and a major cleaning. I am fairly sure that will do the trick.

Actually my middle name is Sue, thank you for asking. I'm gonna go with the purple. If it's too girlyman I can always take up tennis and then it would fit right in with my whitey tighty tennis shorts. Alot of people in chairs play tennis? What kind of punishment is that. I didn't like it much when I had legs, playing in a chair would be masochistic.

I did like racketball, now that's a fast action break a sweat sport right there. No wheels in that game.
