I love these PMs

I fired my PM40 and PM9 this morning. Also the CW40 and P380. I'll put that over on the CW/P forum

Nothing too extensive. I put 3 magazines through the PM40. Winchester Ranger 155 grain JHP. Worked beautifully, as it has since it first left the box. I was having a bad shooting day, and was doing that classic low/left thing, but they were all minute of felon.

Then the PM9. 1 magazine of Speer Gold Dot 115 grain +P+ JHP. Then 5 magazines of CCI Blazer 115 grain FMJ. This got it past that 200 round count, which I've really never found to be necessary with any Kahr other than my P380. All good.

The PM9 is still a little more difficult to take apart than the PM40, which I've put more round through. There is a very fine area where I can pull the trigger and slide the slide off the frame. But I always find it.

These pistols are ruining me for my larger pistols. They are just so darned handy, efficient, dependable, and compact.

I have an MK40 and it is a real thumper. Even with the Mag-na-port it lets go with real authority. I only shot about 60 rounds out of it today. Mostly because I was so enamored with the T9. People were looking at me with a "What the Hell" expression when I was shooting MK. No one in the family or others on the range expressed any interest in shooting it. It shot about 4"s low at 15yrds with standard 40cal 180grs. I took out some of my first mag carry loads which are the 72grs MagSafe +P Mini-Glock Load. Even though these are very serious defense loads it was quite a bit lighter recoiling than the standard 40cal 180grs and they shoot dead-on at 15yrds. Since they are a higher pressure load I believe they gave the Mag-na-port more to work with. I did not shoot any of my standard carry loads the Corbon +P 135s or 155s. Will do that next week.

I'm a "shoot 200 rounds or don't go" type of guy. There are few guns that will cause me to say today we're doing only a 100. I think this little 40cal monster is one of them.

I'd like to know about those with the PM40s. How many rounds can you shoot before it is no longer fun?

The PMs are sweet, I agree. And you don't even have the best of the bunch, the 45!

In case you didn't know, the low, left thing? You must be right handed. If you are, and you're shooting right handed, the low left thing is due to the tightening of the other fingers that you're gripping the pistol with at the same time the trigger finger is tightening. Someone that does the same thing except shoots with left handed will hit high, right.

Might I suggest the following graphic. It's a good start. Some "snap caps" might be of help also. Some dry firing while watching the front sight helped my low and left (right side and right eye dominant).

The best way is to concentrate on grip and trigger control. If you can find an experienced shooter to watch you while you shoot, often times they can see what you are doing wrong. Slow down and practice.

About 15 full bore 155 grain JHPs for me, and the "Kahr callus" on my trigger finger gets re-sensitized, and has me ready to start flinching, and I'm ready to move on to something else.

Next to my LCR with 125 grain magnums, it might be the hardest kicking pistol I've shot. And the sensation is magnified because you only have 2 fingers on the grip with the flush mount magazine.

It isn't a range gun. To me, there just isn't any point in shooting it more at one time than once through the 3 mags I've got. Why? I've got other 40's I can put 50 through without any strain at all. I shoot the PM40 to make sure it works. And I kinda want to take it easy on the followers, now that I've had one break.

But it is one fine, compact, powerful, self-defense handgun. Nothing else compares to it in the true pocket pistol world IMNSHO.

I have about 350 rounds through my PM40 and the first 150 were shot in the first sitting and did not really have any issues with my hands.
I have large hands and there is a big difference for me with the 5 Rd vs 6 Rd mags. I love the feeling of that extra finger, but I carry with the 5 Rd mag, so that is what I mainly shoot with.

I actually just sent my 6 Rd back to have it replaced with a 5 Rd since the 6 was giving me problems with my rebuild pistol.

if u think the MK40 is a real thumper, then the PM40 would bust yournuts for sure. They are powerful calibers and these kahrs are light and small. Your MK is just small and even with magna porting which should IMO have helped it smme also, u gonna know the difference. Range sessions will be much shortrer with the 40 cal and if u try to stretch um out your shooint willgo allto hell also. I love my ported 9mm kahrsw but I just have no desire to have a 40 cal kahr i a PM or even a cw..
