  • PM9 is being replaced

My PM9 is being replaced as my EDC,,,, since my PM40 is the virtually the same size,, I took the plunge and have begun to carry the PM40 daily, one less round, but a little more umph....

Anybody else made the same change?

when i carry iwb which is often, i find myself carrying my glock 27... it's not as pleasant to carry as a pm40, but for 11 rounds and glock performance I can't complain too much! I am thinking about dumping my pm9 for it's sister the cm9... Congrats on your new carry piece!
Focus on your front sight..... The rest should be blurry!

I bought a G27 added a G23 mag with a sleeve, tried it and sold it

I am certainly learning my limitations in terms of comfortability

I've been pretty much committed for at least 15 years. I can afford to shoot 9mm and I shoot it reasonable well. If I were going to move to a larger caliber, it would be to the .45acp, which is where I started in the mid sixties.

I just sold my Glock 27 gen 4 for the more comfortable to carry IWB (for me) PM45. Very glad I did. I went from LCP (.380) to 40 to 45. Skipping 9 alltogether. Back in the 90s I had a Colt Double Eagle 6" barrel, but it got left at home most of the time.

PS i went to the 45 cause if the 4 don't get them, the 5 will!!!

What magazine extension are you using? I have a couple of mags with +1 Glock extensions, but find I prefer the standard magazine when carrying the G27 IWB.

I still carry my PM9 in warmer weather every day but last year I decided to move up in power for the fun of it.I gave considerable thought to the .40 but I decided that if I was going up in power,I might as well do it right. So I bypassed the .40 and jumped into the .45 arena. My .45 conceals easily with a lot of my summer wardrobe and the PM9 works fine with the rest.I`ve never felt undergunned with a 9mm loaded with 124 gr.+P Gold Dots so there`s no problem there. My only problem is that there is a lot,and I mean tons of temptation in the .45 market.Get thee behind me Satan.
In the area in which I now reside, when I`m placed in a group of four or five guys,I`m known as "the smart one".God help me.

I sort of went with the rational from many Defense Weapon & Carry Discussion Forums,,, don't use anything less than your police force uses,,, so .40 cal is OK for me.

If I ever go up to .45, and some day I might, it would be in a 1911 variety pistol

our poolice force here carry's 9's 40's 45's. does the term screw balls fit here??

Ur certainly not under guned with a 9mm,(more police dept carry 9's than any other caliber combined) it ain't a 40 either and IMO you will read far more of people owning kahr 40's that report of alot of recoil and not alot of fun shooting it, So if ur not gonna shoot with ease the gun that might have to save your life, then IMO get another gun.

99.995% u will never have to use that gun in a life saving situation, so why not have agun that you canh also enjoy shooting until the cows come home. I think also that is the main reason the 9's are so so popular. They donb't beat the dog piss out of u.

Certainly one has to notice that when any gun other than the 1911 models comes out the first caliber is 9mm. There is a reason for that. IMO.
. My PM9 has over 34,000+ rounds through it, and runs much better than an illegal trying to get across our border

I'm not trying to be a smart a, but why would you do that? Is there something about the CM9 I'm missing that makes it better than a PM9?

Or your gun. There have been many instances of the .40 causing problems with the guns that shoot them. With the Kahr's cast frames, I'd be afraid of the .40 in a Kahr. If I went to .45ACP in a Kahr, I'd probably stick with standard pressure loads and maybe even milder loads like the 185 gain Winchester Silvertip.

basically kahrs have been pretty problem free of 40 cal issues, in the steel versions or polymer versions. For me just to powerful of a calibre in these small ass lightweight guns for shooting enjoyment.

We have seen a few MK 40 with a crackin the mag well area but this was material defect, not shooting defect. but the K series have been super, the polymer series have been super, to my knowledge I have never seen a damage lower on any polymer kahr 40 cal. Just not my cup of tea..

I try to keep it simple, I carry the largest caliber I feel comfortable with i terms of weight and concealment,,, and up to this point it was my PM9,, even though at times, I can only conceal a P380, due to business dress in the summer.

Although i some times where the conceal t-shirt below with either the PM9 and now the PM40

I am thinking about going to a sleeveless Golf Sweater vest over a polo shirt, since i am in sales, this seems to be an acceptable attire for technical engineering sales guys in the Midwest in the summer. I would then use a IWB or Bellyband
