When I installed mine, set it in the holes, put the screw in and gave the sight one final push and it made an audible snap setting it dead flush on the receiver. Got another 1/8th turn on the screw.

That notch in the rail is supposed to be there
"Laws that forbid the carrying of arms disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes. Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man."
--Thomas Jefferson (1764).

I am affraid I'll mess with it so much, the posts will break or I'll strip the screw or screw head. Any harm in leaving it as is?????“I ask, sir, what is the militia? It is the whole people, except for a few public officials.”

To quote Jocko, "Shoot it like you stole it . . . and enjoy!"It would be so nice if something made sense for a change.
