  • Dry firing the cm9

I was wondering if dry firing the cm9 will in anyway harm the pistol?

I know you have to dryfire to take it apart but I am talking about more than that. I don't mean I am goin to sit and dryfire all night but more than when I just clean it. I don't like to dry fire any pistol but was wondering if it could do damage.

The other question is keeping a round in the chamber. Being new to Kahr I understand the firing pin spring is not under much pressure until you pull the trigger. I think they call it half *ocked maybe. Anyway can you keep a rouind in the chamber indefinitely without damage or weakening the spring?

    thanks

    You are ok dry firing.

No problem keeping a round in the chamber, whether for a short time or a long time. After the initial break in, springs of the sort on a gun will only wear when cycled. That means they can sit compressed for a long time and won't really wear too much. Decompressing and then compressing them is what wears them.

However, if you leave a round in the chamber for too long without ever firing it, your CM9 may start feeling lonely.
