Slide seems much stiffer than I remember on my other PM/CW pistols

I picked up a PM9 from the local board and feel the slide is super stiff. I don't remember my PM40 or CW40 being anywhere near this stiff.

I tightened the slide release spring screw but my slide release still gets pushed up a tiny bit when I insert a mag.

I also noticed that the barrel kind of snags on the slide when cycling it with a magazine in the gun. It doesn't do this when no mag is inserted.



Any suggestions? Is this normal? I don't know how many rounds have been fired through the gun to know if it's fully broken in or not but it seems weird that the barrel would snag the slide briefly during cycling.

go out and shoot the gun, hand cycling can produce different results than the actual cycling of the gun. Shoot it then report back,Probably not a thing wrong. quit looking for something that might not be there...The slide release beng pushe dup could be rounds hitting the iside of the slide lock lever. the propper prepping of ur new kahr addresses that and tells u how to look fo rit and how to fix it..

I agree cycling rounds through it is a different story and isn't what I'm currently trying to figure out. I'm just trying to understand why this one feels exponentially stiffer than any gun I own, including a PM40. It's like giving my 104lb wife my XD Subcompact 40 and watching her try to rack the slide. Even the effort required to drop the slide once locked back seems odd. Again, it's only magnified when a mag is in the gun.

I have another older model PM9 on the way to me that will allow me to compare the two side by side.

kahrs are tight, some tighter than others. Kahrs are IMO the tighest guns on the markeet. My PM9 with 32,000 rounds has zerorattrles in it. the slide is still fitted tight IMJO, certainloy alot easier than whennew.

an empty mag in a kahr isharderto release than whenout of the gun. U actually pushingdown on the fllower on an empty mag. My PM9 new was a total bear for me tohadn rack, actually it took awhile forme and it to warm up toeachother todoit poroperly every time.

I am not alibiing foryour tight kahr, just not sure one can compare two identical guns and comeup with any conclusion that works. TRhey certainly smooth out with rounds down range, that is for sure. There is zerowear anywher eon my PM9, nadda, nothing tosay it has 32,000 rounds out of it or 500. impossable top tell, other than the smoothness in my PM9 is outstanding..
