I bought a used, but very well cared for PM9 a few months ago. It's a spectacular little pistol. Since I live in Cincinnati, and commute to work in Florida every week, I thought it would be a good idea to have another Kahr for carrying down south, versus the Glock 30 I normally carry. (The G30 is a great gun, but quite a bit larger than the PM.) Anyway, I picked up a CM9 today from Bud's Police Supply. I haven't fired her yet, but I'm looking forward to breaking her in. I think it will be a great addition.

Thanks. Nah, not really. I'm a pilot, so I fly for free. It's about a 2 hour flight. I typically fly down, work for three days, and fly home. I thought it was the most ridiculous thing I'd ever heard of when I started. But it's really common in the industry.

Nice! I just bought a CM9 and my carry weapon was a G30 also. Well, it still is when I do not have to be tucked but I got tired of tucking that thing and went for the CM9. I only tuck 8-5p, M-F, so I call my CM9 my 'work gun'. :-) Haven't gotten to carry it yet, waiting on my holster to arrive and for break-in.

Well, I finally got a chance to break in my new CM9. I must admit, I was a little apprehensive based upon some of the negative experiences some others have had. But I gotta say, my little CM9 shoots every bit as well as my PM9. I put 200 rounds of FMJ through it today, with absolutely no problems at all. The range I used is sort of dimly lit, but the pistol was exceedingly accurate for a pocket cannon when I did my part. After I shot the FMJ, I tested some Winchester Ranger T 124 +P. As much as I love my PM9, after shooting my CM, I'd have trouble recommending someone spend an extra $250 for the PM. What else can I say? I'm a big fan of these little Kahrs.

Thanks for that feedback, looking forward to picking my CM9 up Monday when i get back in town, then will break it down, clean, lube, rack the slide about 500 times and get it ready. Trust me come Tuesday i will put about 200 FMJ's and some GD, HST through her to work out the kinks.

One thing I did in addition to the recommended prep was remove the excess "flashing" with an X-acto knife. In a few spots along the rails, and sharp edges, there were some spots of extra polymer from the molding process. I could imagine that might add some extra friction, so I cleaned it up a bit. I've been running around like a maniac today. I'll clean and lube her when I get home. Only other thing I want to do is insert and release my mags a couple hundred times. I didn't have any feeding issues at all. But they don't drop free when I press the release. Just need to break them in a bit.

Congratulations! I recently added a CM9 to my first Kahr, a CW9. Both great pistols.

You ever wonder how many pistols Glock could sell if they made their baby Glocks single stack. The double stacks are great for a back-up duty gun because you can use your full size duty mags. But for off-duty or ccw a single stack would be great. I really like my CM9 but it's not easy to transition from a Glock to a Kahr.

Kahrs are not the easiest to shoot like some of the other gun but once one realizes all the great featurs of the kahr and it small ass size to what one normally called his defense gun, he accepts it and just strives to get better with that trigger system. I don't shoot my PM9 a fifth as good as I do my G19 but my pm9 IS WITH ME 24/7.SO END OF STORY.

If Glock, and S&W came out with a single stack, that was about the size of the CW9/P9 they would sell big time. I think Glock has held off and maybe S&W too, because in their eyes they have compacts already.

We? You say this on a Kahr forum?

I'd really like to know how many people with larger pistols actually leave them behind in the truck or at home compared to the single stack guns.

I have a friend who has several Glocks, and he rarely carries them as they are harder to conceal, and when he does, there is not one in the tube. I've told him he'd be better off with a pocket full of rocks. A higher capacity gun is a waste of plastic and metal if it is not carried religiously.

I was interested in the G36 thinking it was the smallest other than the PM45 which is not CA approved. The P45 is app-roved however and I was surprised to learn it is even smaller then the Glock.
