  • polishing mags

Had some extra time and decided to try mothers on my mags for my cm9. Turned out ok and looks much better than the original finish. pics are out of sequence but you can see the difference on the bottom two with how one reflects.

Nice. How long did it take? I have some of that polish I have used on another one but I have not tried the Kahr mags
The only thing better than having all the guns and ammo you'd ever need would be being able to shoot it all off the back porch.

Wow! They look as good as mine! Was that Mother's what? Mag wheel polish? Chrome polish?
        Very interesting...

Mothers mag and alum polished by hand.... terry cloth to apply, micro cloth to take it off.... the harder you press the better.

Thanks I am hoping they will drop out of the magwell a little bit further.

Did you try squeezing them together at the top just a bit? I hear that makes them so that they drop free.

Thanks about the polish! I need something to remove scratches from my shiny gun. I also have two mags I want to do that to.

Bonjorno2... Thanks for the photos. Very nice results. You motivated me to go to Wally-World and buy some Mother's. Got home and started polishing my CM9 mags. Mine didnt turnout as shiney as yours. Guess I didnt have enough "elbow" in my "grease". But my mags definitely do look better and smoother than they did pre-polish. Unfortunately, the mags dont dropout of the mag well any better than they did pre-polish. But Im not discouraged. Will keep working this issue as part of my regular cleaning process. Thanks for the suggestion.

^^^ you are very welcome, just make sure to use a decent amount of polish on each part and don't wipe it off till it turns nice and black. Then buff it well with the microfiber cloth until it looks like all the black polish is off it and move to another clean spot on the terry cloth and put more mothers on it, rub it until it turns black, buff it with the micro cloth until it's all gone. Make sure you press down hard with your finger to more the polish deep into the metal.

Oh and one of my mags, the original mag that came with the cm9 falls out free when i press the mag release (even with a empty magazine) Try dropping your mags with rounds in them and see if that makes a difference assuming you didn't try that already.
