  • My take on my new CM9

As I stated earlier, I shot 370 mixed rounds during my first range outing.

Sounds like a lot! It was, but I wanted to make sure that this CM9 was reliable and it never missed functioning superbly.

I'm an active old guy, 74 yrs young, that still is a Real Estate Inspector. Can't seem to slow down.

I did add a inner tube to soften the harsh-looking serrations on the Kahr grip. I may not have needed it but I had no hand soreness at all after that epic shooting outing! Not trying for accuracy then.

I went back this past week and shot 100 rounds of 147 grain JHP and another box of 20 Winchester PDX1 124 grain +P.

I am very accurate with my Glock26 but still need more practice to get this CM9 shooting better. At 25 feet, I can get them within the seven circle with one shot per second. But, I can get the G26 rounds within the ten ring faster than that. (unless I have shot several hundred times and get shaky!)
    Next week.....

I have a Remora 2A ART holster for my Keltek P32 with CT that the CM9 fits just great with a lot of "handle" out to grab. I use the Remora IWB abdomen on hip and it stays where I place it but can be "pushed" slightly to achieve more sitting comfort. I also have mainly carried the CM9/Remora in my left front pocket (lefty) with good results. I have ordered an Aholster kydex for pocket carry. It works pretty well for my G26.

Khaki pants with large pockets works for me.

Anyway, I love this little Kahr!

Hey, thanks for the post. Being only 67 you make me feel young.

Sounds like you're a really fine shooter and have your carry system pretty much down pat. That's good.

So is that your take on the CM9?

How does it compare to the G26? That may be my next purchase.

Owning a G19 which is not a chopped version of the 26, u will love your glock, they are great shootrers, that being said they ain't gonna fill that area where a cm9 can ride with ease. even IWB OR OWB the cm9 will conceal far better. But that being said double stack normlly trumps single stack for firepower. own um both, but buy lots of dust cloths as the G26 will still do alot of home sitting, IMO.

I also have a Glock 26 which I carry AIWB but not to much this time of the year. My PM9 has gone AIWB (normally pocket carrry PM9) a couple of times where I would have otherwise carried my Glock 26. If I could only have one it'd be a tough choice between the Kahr and the Glock.

being I pocket carry 24/7 and choose to never IWB OR OWB, my decision would be for the kahr PM9. other than that for total reliabiloity and my ability to actually hit something that I aim at my G19 would be myt primary carry no doubt. It is fine gun, some think butt ugly but if you seen my tuned, ported and Dawson fiber optic adjustable sights andstippled G19, u would not think so.

i too am a new cm9 owner, and i'm enjoying it just as much as you. i just picked it up on thursday and managed to get 700 rounds through it this weekend. prior to purchasing this gun my glock 19 did about 99% of my carry duty, after now feeling comfortable with the cm9 reliability and trigger i can honestly say that starting tomorrow the cm9 will take over a lot of the responsibility from the g19. i still can't shoot it quite as accurately as the glock because of the night and day difference in trigger, but i'm shooting about 1.5"-2" groups at 7 yards which is good enough for SD accuracy.

i also got an IWB kydex holster from pjholster.com that is very nice, thin, and easily concealable. i'm not a huge fan of the j-hook but i've never tried one on a holster before and thought i'd give it a shot. paul is going to remold it into a traditional clip on loop for me at no charge. i also have a pocket holster from him on the way and will post some pics in my thread when it gets here.

Now that's a good range report
The only thing better than having all the guns and ammo you'd ever need would be being able to shoot it all off the back porch.

                  Hey Mike,

Great post and glad to see yet another great report on the CM9.
Seems to be par for the course, which is a great thing!

Regarding your Remora, I just started experimenting with
                  a 10ART for my Glock 19/23, a 5ART for my Glock 26/27
both of which have been really very impressive so far.

But Alan sent me a 4ART for my PM9 which was a poor fit.
He said that he's got a new "Series 3" that's supposed to fit
the PM9 better. But you've got yours riding in a Series 2?

Is it a snug fit? Or does the gun draw fairly easily from it?

                  Thanks,

                  Micheal- (also)

                    Michael,

The CM9 fits perfectly in the Remora 2A ART designed for the Keltek P32 and maybe others. Easy draw and the butt rides high for an easy grab. I LIKE it!

                      Ressom,

I really love the Glock 26! I shoot it better than any (except for the Ruger MKII) pistol that I have tried. But, I just have to learn the CM9 trigger and I will.

                      Egards,

                        Michael,

If you order a Remora, make sure the 2A ART is for the Keltek P32 WITH a Crimson Trace laser sight attached. Otherwise, I think that the holster might be too tight.

                        Happy shooting!

Let's see... I own a ruger MKI, a S&W4513, and a PM9, among "other stuff", and I want a Glock 21 next... and you joined kahrtalk the day after my birthday... I think I may have found my evil twin! Or vice versa...

Alan is sending me the "new" PM9 holster so we'll see how
that works out. I'm actually quite happy with my Nemesis for
pocket carry...but always looking for something better

I also have the 26, its a great gun, easy to shoot and the best is it always go bang. I really want the 19 but I also want to try the cm. The sig 238 I have is another great gun and were you point it goes. so its going to be a hard choice, sell the sig or the p380. Its going to be a tough task which one goes.
