  • Iiiitttttsss heeeeere!

My PM 9 9093 came in and here are my initial impressions.

    1. Even after seeing all the photos comparing the size to an LCP I couldn't believe how close in size they really are until I stacked mine on top of each other. All I can say is wow

    2. For those interested it is an IC9*** series serial number.

3 fit and finish seems real nice however is there supposed to be a small cut in the forward left portion of the frame rail? It looks intentional more than a defect.... All roll marks, gaps between slide and frame are perfect.

    4. It came in the oiled bag, but was really pretty clean, so much so I almost skipped the cleaning recommended here, but came to my senses and took everyone's advice . I racked the slide about 600 times last night, only a very small string of plastic the size of an arm hair resulted from the frame after all the racking.

I also ordered 2 extra 6 rounders,1 8 rounder for the vehicle, 2 Pearce extensions the rubber decal grip, and meprolite night sights.....now after reading all the comments, sounds like I should have ordered them with the sights already installed.....What do you think since I already have them....try it with a sight pusher?

Also it's been a while since I bought a pistol, but there was no envelope with a spent casing. Do MFR's not do that any more?

Ok sorry for the long post but I'm pretty happy right now. I can't shoot until tomorrow morning so the range report will come later.

I hope yours works out as good as mine. Mine is an old VA under 4000 series.

Got it new and have just shot it ...... no custom work or special treatment .... it has been flawless so far and has handled several different kinds of ammo without a problem.

Cool. The notch in the front rail is a witness mark for the molding process, perfectly normal and nothing to worry about.

Only some states require the fired casing to be included with the gun, I don't think Texas is one of them. Before you probably got a generic gun that could have gone to California or Mass or one of them places with absurd rules.

The sights can be a real bugger to get off, they sometimes are very very tight. If you get em off your home free, you can fit the Mepros so they fit properly with no worries.

If I had the sights in my hand I'd probably try doing it myself, if I didn't I'd probably have it done.

      Happy new gun to you!

The "Bulge" which you may latter notice is also normal.

every mans gun has a buldge!!! it is normal.
. My PM9 has over 34,000+ rounds through it, and runs much better than an illegal trying to get across our border

I don't do well with sights so would have mine installed, but watching the UTube videos it doesn't look very difficult. So if you are skilled why not. Now a few guys here do all kinds of stuff including sights and can advise you better.

                Hope you enjoy it!
Mine came in yesterday IN9*** series.
Ran 100rds. of WWB through it today with 1,2, weak and strong handed, no prob. .
For a gun this size it's very accurate and a soft shooter.

We already have the cream of the crop in thin 9s - the Kahrs. Nothing about the Beretta interests me. The Kimber Solo interests me a little because it is so pretty and you can put wooden grips on it, but the price and lack of availability knock me out of the market for that gun.
                        Very interesting...

Don't take much to get us worked up these days. Obviously.

need to improve on the solo according to a late gun report, which stated that they need to work on thegun tomake it shoot standard range type ammo and not allthis "only" hot ammo like they recommend. I sure don't want tot ake a kimber solo out allthe time and have to shoot the muchmore expensive ammo. Nice gun though, just MO not a true pocket gun being truly a single action gun. U damn well betterhave the safety on at all times, and then I wouldnot trust myself having it in my pocket either. It sure deoesn't make me wantto peddle my PM9..
