  • Is this a nosedive fix?

Checkmate is the supplier of mags to several companies. The Sig 1911 RCS 45ACP has them as does the Dan Wesson Guardian in 9mm. Checkmate uses a skirted follower with a dimple. Their design is said to eliminate nosedives.

Would substituting Checkmate followers (and perhaps springs) work in a PM9 or CM9? Anyone try it?

I'm a huge fan of Checkmate 1911 mags, I have 3. I've not even looked for a 9mm mag from them but it's an interesting thought. Their "Patented Follower" is very nice with skirts on either end. Maybe somebody here will buy one and try it out.

      Just went to Checkmate's website.
They do not appear to have Kahr magazines.

Would buying just a follower and swaping it in a Kahr mag work?

It looks like less than $9 plus shipping for a follower to find out.

A phone call is cheaper. The show the 9mm only for a Beretta and that doesn't mention their patented follower. I suspect it only comes in the 1911 45 flavor.

I tried some of the Checkmate .45 mags for the 1911. Actually tried a bunch... had problems in my Champion AND my PM45... with one of the followers in the PM45 mag.
This link is to my 1911 trials of mags:

I still had a few problems with the mags in my Champion and the follower still let the spring pop out in the PM45 mag.

Wynn, Checkmate solved my mag problems for the Lightweight Commander 45. Both the stock Colt mags and McCormick mags gouged the alloy ramp. The "Patented Followers" don't, plus the hybrid lips feed real well.
