  • My New Kahr CM9

After looking high and low for a suitable concealed carry semi-automatic in a decent caliber, I finally saw my first Kahr Arms CM9 at my local gun shop last week. The pistol felt great in my hand, but the truth would only be learned by buying the gun and taking it home.

The first magazine through my new pistol turned out to be a slight revelation. I was shooting 115 gr. PMC full metal jacketed rounds, and the first round out of the mag failed to eject. Okay, first shot, no big deal! The rest of the rounds fed, fired, and ejected with no problems. However, the slide would not stay open after the last round was fired.

Since this ain't my first rodeo, I switched to Remington/UMC 124 gr. NATO, and everything proceeded smoothly. Other brands of factory ammo fired on that first day consisted of Winchester 147 gr. FMJ and Remington 147 gr. FMJ. Everything was fine with this ammunition, and I proclaimed my new CM9 a winner!

Since that first day, I've put approximately 200 more rounds through the pistol with no malfunctions. Today I fired 100 rounds of Federal 147 gr. JHP, and the accuracy and function were perfect.

This pistol carries very well in an inside-the-waistband Tucker Gunleather Texas Heritage holster, mounted on The Beltman elephant hide gun belt.

This holster is obviously NOT made for the Kahr CM9! However, while I await the arrival of a Texas Heritage which is made specifically for my gun, this one is quite adequate.

To say I am very pleased with my new pistol would be gross understatement.

what ur gun is doing now is not what it was doing when totally new. Your recoil springs have now taken their designed set and I bet now that it will shoot the PMC ammo with ease. The gun is smoothing out more every round to.

You might want to go to thekahr tech section and hit on two stickys kthat will make you feel more comfortable with your cm9.

    #1 kahr lube chajrt

#2 propper prepping of ur new kahr.

cm9 is one super duper great gun, not sure u will find anythig better, certainly no better trgger system...

    welcome aboard.

        Thank you gentlemen!

I had actually bought the 115 gr. PMC ammunition to test the replacement recoil spring assembly in a Gen 4 Glock 19. I decided to try the stuff in my new CM9. Expected the worst, but hoped for the best!

Having racked the slide on the CM9 right out of the display case, I figured that it would take some shooting to loosen up the springs. I appreciate the links, and the welcome. I really do like this new pistol.

        AND, that trigger is fantastic!

I put 200 - 115 gr PMC through my pm9 for its break in, was flawless, not a single issue what so ever, every round ejected, every round fired as expected, slide locked back every mag for both 6rd and 7rd.

My PM9 also loved Hornady Critied Defense 115gr, it felt like the recoil was less and smoother than the PMC, was a nice test for SD. It also ate 124gr TAP's as well.

                    I like em.

I hear sirens, what's that, it's Capt. Bawanna. Watch out!
The only thing better than having all the guns and ammo you'd ever need would be being able to shoot it all off the back porch.
