  • universal pocket holster???

Is there a universal pocket holster that will fit my CM9 and my Ruger LCP or is a different holster required for each pistol?

  • #2
I bought an cheap Uncle Mike's size 2 several years ago for my CW9. I later used it for my PM45, and now for my PM9 and LCP. I guess that's about as universal as it gets.

I actually use the desantis and the uncle mikes #3 for both. That holster in ur front pocket covers the entire trigger assembly, so safety if formost with me, Fast draw area it is not but that does not bother me either. I like the desantis for some reason more but the uncle Mikes IMO is a tad thinner. I never fear pocket carrying with either of those two rigs.
. My PM9 has over 34,000+ rounds through it, and runs much better than an illegal trying to get across our border

The local Wal-Mart carries a Blackhawk pocket holster size 03. I carry a CM9 in mine, but it fits the LCP, PF9 great too! $10

I'm too much of a 'perfect holster' kinda guy. I carried my LCP in the famous Nemesis, but even the very similar sized P380 didn't fit well enough in it. I would't be comfortable digging my LCP out of the same holster I carry my PM9 in. So for me, the answer is No.

Unfortunately, there's no such thing as a "universal" pocket (or any other kind of) holster. Which is why most of us are confirmed "Holster-holics" and have a box full of holsters sitting in the closet!

I like these Active Pro holsters 24.99 on Kahr.com. Holds PM and P9/K9 sizes equally well. Has yet to come out of pocket even when practicing as fast as you can possibly draw from a pocket over and over at the range. I have found that I can get a better grip on this as opposed to a style that extends up and beyond on the leg side of the holster. See pic 2 posts above mine. We all have different tastes I personally can just draw a bit quicker with this style.

I have found a lot of success selling holsters, grip enhancers, et al here on the For Sale forums. So, I don't have hardly anything that I no longer want laying around in a drawer or box.
                  Very interesting...

Isn't the inner tube sticky in your pocket, making it difficult to draw? I have a Qwik-Grip rubber grip enhancer. It is very thin, almost like an inner tube. But I find the rubber a real hindrance when drawing from a pocket. I like the Qwik-Grip so much that I decided to forget pocket carry and sold my pocket holster.

                      Yep! Works great for both.

If you put the CT on the Kahr, you'll need a size 4 though. It becomes a little too snug for quick draw with a 3.

I can't say that I've noticed that as an issue. But now that you've pointed it out odds are good that I'll notice it now as I'll be on the lookout. Funny what minor little things we dont notice until someone points it out to us.

Well, if you haven't noticed it by now, the inner tube must not be as tacky as the Qwik-Grip, because you would have noticed if you could not get the gun to come out of your pocket at all without wrestling with it for 30 seconds with both hands! I might have to try the inner tube.

Love the inner tube you can get about 35 of them for 2.99. Very cost-effective.
