Yup, first day today. They had a part time position for like 8 months. I suspect at the end of that they will negotiate for more hours or full time. She's good worker, if she can survive the office politics and BS.Originally posted by JFootin View PostShe's working at the PD now?
The chiefs daughter applied too. They told my wife she didn't meet the matrix? for an interview, then called back and said they were interviewing everyone. I'm shocked she got it over the chiefs daughter. She must not have wanted to work with the weather getting nice.
I told the wife I'd let her keep 10% of everything she makes. I got a .......whatever.http://bawanna45.wix.com/bawannas-grip-emporium#!

Hey, I take full responsibility for my own insanity. Last I checked, though, it wasn't catching!Originally posted by Bawanna View PostRight now I got a severe case of 1903 Springfield fever, thanks to Mr. DK Matthews. I gotta quit chatting with that guy. I/We found one, all I need now is the loot. Same old story.

Mi familia...
Left to right: 1943 Remington '03-A3 match rifle, 1943 Smith-Corona '03-A3 match rifle, 1942 Remington '03-A3 rifle, 1918 Springfield 1903 Mark I rifle, 1913 Springfield 1903 rifle.

Working on this one to "resurrect" it from having been sporterized: 1932 Springfield 1903 rifle.
I don't intend to keep 'em all. I'm planning on doing enough horse tradin' to have a couple of each model of US military rifles for my boys. I feel like I've already got a couple of good examples of M1 Garands and I'm working on the Model 1903's. I guess I'll work on the M1 Carbines or the P17's next.
That's my story and I'm stickin' to it!

Oh I think it's catching all right. That's a darn nice pile of 03's there for sure.
When you start on the M1 Carbines I got a beauty I'll share a picture of.
I call if my duffel bag carbine. Quality Hardware and Machine. Pristine.http://bawanna45.wix.com/bawannas-grip-emporium#!

I so want an 03A3, and a Garand, maybe a carbine too. I'll stop before I say something untoward.Attitude: it takes 43 muscles to frown, 17 to smile...and 3 for proper trigger squeeze.

jlottmc -- if you're serious about wanting an '03-A3, there are plenty of them out there -- LOTS more than the ladder sight Model 1903. Between gunauction.com, gunbroker.com and gunsamerica.com, there are probably 50 to 100 '03-A3 rifles up for sale right now. Pawn shops and gun shows are better, because you get to see it up close and personal before you part with your cash. Good luck!

Right now the time and money thing come into play. I have zero time to really search for a good deal with the police academy, and then the bankroll for all of this is a little tight right now. I have now doubt whatsoever that I will own one, but likely it will wait until I get picked up by a department. Just one of those holding pattern things right now.Attitude: it takes 43 muscles to frown, 17 to smile...and 3 for proper trigger squeeze.

I'm not a family man, and we actively plan not to have a family. My wife is a working woman with her own salary (larger than mine) so our separate account strategy works, it isn't the same for those with a stay at home parent. I certainly won't disagree with your practice with the wife and your family, nor your thoughts on women parents in the workplace. I'm glad to see you value your wife's contribution, several of my peers talk down about their wives for taking time to raise the kids. I wish more parents were dedicated to family first instead of the relentless pursuit of material possessions. My mom was stay at home until I was in 3rd grade, then went back to teaching.Originally posted by Bawanna View PostI'm old school. Before kids she worked. After kids she didn't work. Her job was the kids. When the kids got into school she sometimes found part time jobs but would always be home when they got home. The last one a senior this year is no different.
Never done day care.
I told her she would never have to work again if she didn't want to. She works hard enough taking care of me. My job is to find the money.
Apologies in advance to all my cyber wives but if it were up to me there would be no woman in the work place and a lot of decent well brought up kids and very poor profit in the day care business.Kahr PM9, P380, T9, CW9, and a crapload of Glocks.
