Just picked up a new CT380. Will clean and lube this weekend. Should start the break in next week. I have 3 brands of brass FMJ ready to go - Blazer Brass, Armscor and PMC Bronze.

I have a CM9 that's great but I had a bad experience with a CW380 a few years ago. I hope this 380 works out better.

Broke it down and cleaned and lubed. A few observations:

Came apart easily and went back together with no issues.

Very little packing grease inside and not very dirty from being test-fired.

Both ends of the larger outside recoil spring are closed. No problem at all reinstalling the recoil spring.

Slide is stiff but not too difficult to rack. I will of course chamber the first by using the slide release.

Feed ramp is shiny but I can see some tooling marks.

Congratulations on a good choice!

Mine doesn't like WWB, but shoots everything else I've fed it. Carry it with Hornady Critical Defense.

First outing was a complete success. 105 flawless rounds.

Mostly I carry IWB at 1:30 with a t-shirt or polo as cover. For that I will likely use a High Noon Upper Cut that I bought for my RM380. When I do pocket carry I have a Braids leather pocket holster that I believe was made for a CM9. A couple of velcro strips on the inside to take up the extra space and it fits great.

I also put 2 layers of bike tube on to fatten up the grip a little.

Absolutely safe and a gun with an empty chamber is an empty gun in my book.

Agree - absolutely safe.

I now have 250 rounds through it with no issues. It has loosened up a lot and I can slingshot chamber a round without an issue.

I can confidently tell you from experience that my P380 can be thrown down the street like a baseball, and be safe. Did I test it that way? H... no! Have I made some stupid mistakes that have proved it (and my Glock 33) can be dropped on a tile floor, a wood floor, and on concrete, four times in total, and not miss a beat.

So, I have learned and experimented FOR all of you. No need to set up any experiments to confirm.

Just a couple little pieces of advice follow:
1. When sitting down to do some paperwork in the bathroom, make sure that your IWB holster that doesn’t have a retention strap is made to point the gun barrel down, like normal, during the ENTIRE sitting maneuver. Trying to get cute by dropping your bottoms quickly while sitting in the same motion might cause a “free fall” situation behind you, which will scare the you know what out of you if it smacks the side of the toilet on its way to the floor. I’m just sayin’, I know a guy that allowed that to happen.
2. When carrying your P/CW/CT 380 in a Sticky holster while wearing shorts, remember to check that everything is in its proper place after taking a leak. You don’t want that thing to sneak under your waist band, and then quickly down your leg to the ground. I know a guy that has had that happen to him, also. The brand of holster wasn’t the culprit. Any of the friction-retention holsters can do it if you release the tension in your waist band.

Good tips.

My CT is still a bear to rack, but then again I haven't messed with it very much lately. Got to get it out to shoot whenever the rain abates and the creek level drops so I can drive across it to my brother's property.
