Hey, haven't you seen how many people get attacked while in the shower? It's in the movies, man!
Besides, if I didn't carry while in the shower, then my guns would never get cleaned!

We just moved to Atlanta Ga and it is a lot different then where I have spent the last 30 years of my life witch was upstate ny where it is very hard to get a handgun permit. Also I felt safe there. But being here people have got robbed outside my work I'm talking atlest 6 in the 6 mouths I've been here. Anyway she finely figured it out last weekend. She is very mad at me still and this happend about a week ago. This has opened up here mind though becouse she is now talking about where is a good places to keep the gun in the house. As of now it's in the garage. She is mad but we went from we will not have a gun in are house to where is a good place to keep it. I thank this forum for being so informative becouse every time she asked a question I gave here a good answer all which I have learned here. Sory for the rambull.
My GF, who lives with me, went from "I don't want a gun in the house" to " I won't ride in the same car if you are concealed carrying" to "Did you remember your gun?". She still has a long , long way to go.

I suspect most members are somewhere in the middle class range and unless you live in a combat zone, lets be realistic about the necessity of carrying 24/7. Thank you. Now, feel free to tear into me.
My goal is to carry 100% of the time. Only "pistol free zones" keep me from meeting that goal. YOU CANNOT PICK AND CHOOSE WHEN A CRIME WILL HAPPEN. It could be while I take out the trash or walk to the mailbox.

Can you tell me when and where the next home invasion will occur? Will they rob a poor person in a bad neighborhood who has nothing to steal, or YOU, in that nice safe home with plenty of toys and some cash?

I keep my EDC within 2 or 3 feet of me at home until I go to bed.

Thank you, TriggerMan, for "tearing into me". I feel cleansed, corrected, and somewhat redeemed by the process. Note to Bawanna: Please help me, B-Man! They're "tearing into me!"

In the context of visiting an anti-gun friend/relative, a carry purse should work for you.
              Very interesting...

When I go visiting.... its concealed as it usually is, in my front pocket, where its liable to print upon certain movements. Nobody says squat.

If I'm stayin over at a friends, its on me, or under my pillow, or on the bathroom counter when I'm taking a shower.

There is one gal I know, a die hard liberal, who always asks... "does that thing make you feel like a man?" (in a very snide way). Lately I've been using the line I learned here, which is, I carry a small pistol to compensate for having a large pecker! Shuts her right up, and to be honest, she really doesn't care when I'm at her place. When we roll to Leesburg or to Daytona or Seibring, I carry (as always) and she has confided she feels better that I am (liberal Freudian moment?).

Don't ask, don't tell.... just carry.

Heh. But what are you packing? I know someone who's changing her sex, and when she says she's packing, it means she's wearing a fake, um, male sexual organ.

I'm here for you pal but I gotta tell ya until a few years ago my gun went in the shower with me in a zip lock bag. (Locks in the freshness). It finally dawned on me that without my super powered hearing aid they could tear the house down with jack hammers and I'd still be singing to myself, (Moon River is my favorite). So I don't do it anymore. I still carry riding the lawn mower.

Hold your head up. Tearing into you is a sign of affection around here.

For those who would carry super concealed in her house, I say I couldn't do that. I feel it would dishonor her to "sneak" my gun into her house. If I were to take it in, I would be up front with her. It's a sense of integrity with me to be up front and honest with my friends.

This time I got a strong sense of what I've suspected but danced around for a couple years. Next time I'll tell her I don't travel without it and want to keep it in a locked pistol glove inside my luggage if she is uncomfortable with it. Her house, her rules.

I understand how you feel, OldLincoln. As much as I would like to carry at work, the owner has requested that I not do so. So, I leave my gun in my truck. I respect his decision. He is not anti gun, but is worried about his insurance if I had to shoot someone on his property.

Wow. I just gotta say this before someone else does. That's a dumb reason. If you had to shoot someone, it would be saving your ass, or his ass, or a lot of money/property, or all of the above, and insurance costs would be a low priority concern at that point. He'd rather you were killed/raped than have his insurance costs go up?

But, I respect that you respect his dumb decision.
