  • The funny way things work.

I got $60 from my Dad for my B-day and decided to do the only responsible thing I could do.
Get a fifth barrel for my Glock G27!

Owning handguns and being on multiple forums I’ve learned that some things work in funny ways.
    1) You would think dealing with the manufacture directly would always be the best way to go.
I’ve found that usually it’s not.
Generally I can get products from a third party cheaper, and faster, than the manufacturer.

Case in point; Storm Lake Barrel from Storm Lake takes 4-6 weeks and costs $160.
Same Storm Lake barrel, from MidwayUSA, costs $140 and is in my hands in 1 week.

    2) You would think that manufacturer’s would properly list parts that fit in specific models of guns.
Truth is lots of Glock parts are interchangeable across models.
    What does this mean?

A Storm Lake G27 standard length 3.47”, from Storm Lake costs $160.
If you want an extended one for the G27 @ 4.16”, it costs $175.
    Thing is, a G23 standard barrel @ 4.02”, costs $160, and will drop in a G27.

These two facts combined mean I’ll have an extended Storm Lake barrel
for my G27 in one week and save $35.

    Isn’t life grand?

I think we need to start working on a belt scabbard to hold the 4 extra barrels not on the gun. Proper barrel for the proper situation so to speak.
Maybe Ron Garrett can build you a ST barrel holder?

Bawanna, would these barrels be kept loaded with a single round that matches the situation?

That's a good thought. We'll have to try and incorporate that in the design.

I've got three Storm Lake barrels in .45acp. One for Officers, one Commander, one Govt (marked SIG, but its a Storm Lake made for Sig). All three needed minor fitting, all three shoot great. I'm sure yours will be no different.

You never know when you might need a "throw-away" barrel... as long as you recover the brass.

That depends on what the barrels are full of. Of course if you are only talking gun barrels....,
