With twins it's going to be harder to hand it off when the diaper gets dirty.

Congrats Deano Grand kids are great. If anything they keep you younger. Plus it's a great way to get back at your own kids for all the crap they put you through. You can spoil the hell out of your grandkids. I like to get them all sugared up and bouncing off the walls right before I drop them back off.

I like that idea. My oldest son knew all the right buttons to push so his little brothers would get pi**ed off. I'm gonna use that sugar idea to the fullest!

Grandkids are indeed a rewarding experience. Although I have to wait a little while before I can start to rile them up and send them home as my son and his family are living with us right now until they can get back on their feet. But it's all good. Now when I get home from work I'm not only energetically greeted by my dog, but the grandkids as well.

Consider yourself lucky, mine live in Texas, so I probably won't see them as much.

Congrats! It is a blessing to see how my parents are with our daughter. They REALLY enjoy being grandparents and playing with her. I can see there is a special bond between grandparents and grandkids, and I'm sure you will enjoy it.

Now you better pick a name for yourself soon. Papa, G Pa, etc. My parents go by Bampa and Mimi. Even if you choose a name for yourself, it may not stick... My mom started out as Grammy, but then changed to Gammy (easier to say), but my daughter ended up calling her Mimi, so that is what it is.

Never give up an opportunity to crawl around the floor playing Lego construction with them, then when it's "time" they will want to go to the range every time there's a chance when they get older. I bought my grandson his first BB gun at age 6, and started his range trips with .22 at age 10.... Mrs. Surv and I got to watch him cross the stage at his high school graduation last night.

Here's hoping that your grandkids always keep you smiling.

I became a grandfather a year ago, after thinking it would never happen. I am not oriented to babies, but I have to admit that this little guy is pretty cute.

His parents (including my daughter) are city folk, and unfortunately are a bit left of center, but I am hoping that the little guy turns out like Michael J. Fox on the show where he was a sensible kid who showed up his liberal parents.

Once he becomes old enough to come visit grandpa at the ranch out West, I plan to show him how to:

1. Pee outside, on the road.
2. Drive my bulldozer.
3. And of course, shoot a gun. All kinds.

I want to make sure he is at least exposed to the finer things in life, unlike most city kids today.
