  • Let's see your mutt picture thread

Just wanted to see a picture or 2 of your pooches (not beer guts! :40

I know a lot of us here own dogs, and me thinks one of the best things man has ever done was domesticating dogs IMO. From guarding us, hunting, giving the blind new eyes, detecting cancer, bombs, drugs, serving in war, and finding the lost/dead/fugitives, the best thing they give us is companionship.

    I'll start:

This is Maggie, my dobie. The best dog and breed I have ever owned and from a great bloodline. Sweet as the day is long, but a fierce guard dog when needed. She occupies the house most of the day whether we are home or not and opts for the recliner often She gets her exercise in my big old yard though.

(I know BEARDOG has a pile o' pictures of his Bear!)

We had a Collie years ago. I'd heard they run off every chance they get, not doubt looking for people to rescue so you can follow them and save the day.

Breeder said no they were great and never run off. I spent more time looking for that dog! I finally gave her to my mom who had a fenced yard.

Nice dog, real pretty but always on the run.

I've been a lab guy all along until the Beagle came along. We do get attached to our K9 pals, for sure.

She"s my fifth collie. First one when I was 6. If I outlive this one, might get a rescued collie next time.

Here is my wifes service dog Valentine. Unfortunately, we found out Saturday that she has heart disease and won't be with us much longer. Valentine departed us yesterday 6/26. She died due to a BIG HEART just as she lived and shared with us.

I had a white/yellow lab when I was a kid. Loved that guy. Couldn't keep him out of the creek for anything.

I'm so sorry. Was it heartworms?

No her heart disease is common in small dogs. She is 12 and they told us a few months ago that she had a slight heart murmur. Now, is is bad and the enlarged heart is causing breathing problems.
