Pm 45 almost right now

Took my PM45 to the Range yesterday after receiving my gun back from mother ship two weeks ago.The gun was send previously for the same problems: FTF/FTE and trying to knock my Headlights out. Did a small test run: 6 rds Remington Golden Saber 230 jhp and 50 rds Federal fmj 230 grain. At round 40 I had one ftf and 1 round grazed the top of my head, much better as previously posted. I took all six Magazines with me to rotate. I already made up my mind to trade the gun if it wasn't to my expectation but left the Range with a big smile on my face. I bought the small .25c targets (5 of them) and practiced rapid fire from 7 and 10 yards without a miss. Finally I get to enjoy my x mas present. It's unreal how accurate that sucker is! Now I've to see how she does in the long run. When I cleaned the gun, I saw that the smith beveled an edge on the inside above the firing pin and some grinding work to the left and right of that notch, the repair slip stated also that barrel work was done but I can't tell. Well at least it's working now.

I'd lube it and run 400 rounds of FMJ through it.
Then retest with JHPs.

The gun has already 500+ rds trough it, always cleaned and lubed. Another 400 rds would be very expensive just to test reliability. I'll take her twice a month for sessions and we'll see, still got over 4 years warranty left. I hope she'll function well and reliable from now on.

The ejection pattern will change as your recoil spring loosens into its state of prolonged normalcy.

here and a round there in the head for many semi owners is just part of owning a semi auto. No guarantees everything is gonna work out as we think it should. My G19 will bonk me every once in awhile. I attribute that to maybe my shootng form on that shot might have changed or the round itself was not like all the other rounds fired. Live with it. If the gun goes bang every time, your good to go. I have 32K rounds out of my PM9 and I don;t consider the ever break in rounds. They are just rounds out of the gun. That is what I boutht it for. I didn't buy a gun to shoot 200 rounds and then never to shoot it again. My defense gun is my range gun more than any gun I own.

One can "test" shoot his gun for 500 perfect rounds and then u get a ftf or fte or what ever. do u then start over again with retesting?? Makes no sense to me to do so. IMO if one thinks that owning any semi and not ever having a ftf or fte and shooting alot, will never have an issue, he is fooling himself. Guns can't talk or maybe they would be telling us what we are doing wrong. Just sayin

My Glock G27, from NIB, has 4000+ rounds, in three calibers, 95% HP and has NEVER had a FTF/FTE.
Both my Sig Sauer guns, from NIB with OEM barrels, have never ever FTF/FTE either.
My MK40 Elite, following break, in has been flawless with over a case (+1000) of HPs as well.
I'm just saying...

Add on, my HK P2000 never had any issues ,as my sw mp shield is reliable over 1000 rounds so far right out of the box,just sayin!

My point though was not quantity but so what if ur glock goes 4K without a hitch, and then it deos something that does not produce a bang, do u then retestr for 4K to say it is OK. All these good guns will go and go and go,icluding kahrs.

I wish glock would make a slim frame 9/40 already..... My glock 39 goes bang everytime, but it's a chunky monkey! My pm45 has been flawless, but I still carry my pm9/40 more.

And it's a point well taken.
I'm not so arrogant as to believe my Glock can't malfunction.
Anything mechanical can.
And one failure in 4000 wouldn't restart the clock for me.

I think part of my innate love for revolvers is related to
removing FTF/FTE from the reliability equation.
That and getting a fresh round by just pulling the trigger.
