  • Is the real Joke on us?

Since "The Joker" chose an AR style gun.
With a high cap 100 round snail mag.
And and bought 6000+ rounds over the internet.
I can't help but wonder of if some flavor the Brady Bill will suddenly be resurrected.

No ARs and no High Cap mags would suck.
But no online ammo sales for me is the real nightmare.
    Other than at gun shows,
high quality ammo here is expensive and sometimes hard to come by.

I'm already seeing gun control advocates claiming more restrictions would reduce these horrific events.
Few people seem to be saying "one armed citizen could have lessened the carnage".
As Jocko says; I'm just saying...

I don't expect too much backlash. About a week of talking heads trashing each other and then everything will be back to normal. Just my opinion, people are getting pretty numb to this stuff.

Initial polls, and gun restrictions following other events in this type in the past, seem to follow that point of view.

      I hope you're right...
Common sense seems hard to come by these days.

We are at a point where we are sacrificing too much freedom and spending too much money on perceived security. I think everyone is starting to realize that. Theirs no way to stop a lone wolf crazy man.

Agreed. A lot of sound and fury signifying nothing.

Now that an extreme rightwing comment if I ever heard one. There's hope for you yet, CrabbyAzz. You can bet that some left wing liberal socialist democrat will attempt to make hay from the carnage. It's in their blood.

The outcome would have been different if an off duty LEO or armed citizens would have intervened. This puke is a coward.

It's an individual issue, not a gun issue. The weapons were the tools, not the mastermind behind it. Could have been a bomb, car, chemicals... you name it.

Do college students really have enough $ to buy 5,000 rounds of ammo online? I know I didn't when I was in school! That's like $1,600 (at the least) for .223.

Hey! Maybe that guy had run up a hundred grand or so in student loans and decided on a fully taxpayer supported lifetime of leisure in prison... maybe even finish his PhD in prison!

I agree 100%. But on a CBS Special I watched last night, Liberal NYC Mayor Bloomberg basically said that having armed citizens in the crowd would have made things worse, and begged the question: Is that really we want want?

IMHO, the progessive left just does NOT understand that the NO GUN ZONES are the ones that continually get attacked. Also on the show was polling results from the 80's & today. Almost 80% of Americans polled in the 80's felt stricter gun control laws were needed, as to only 44% today. Politicians will use the rhetoric and move on, as I think they realize pushing for more strict gun laws is like taking a poison pill. Their efforts to dis-arm will remain, but I do believe will fail every time.

This is what happens when you cede your liberties and responsibilities to the government and let THEM be responsible for YOUR safety. Where were the alarms and safeguards on the theater exit doors??? The effect was to pen up a bunch of sheeple for the slaughter that took place.

King Bloomie is way too full of himself. If you don't know there's a beverage war going on in NYC and Ole Bloomie boy seems to be losing it.
He wants to outlaw beverages over 16 oz because the people of NY are too fat. Big Government thinking they knows best!
                        Foock you King Bloomberg!

Then disgustingly he take the tragedy of Aurora and turns into a political grandstand.... That's despicable, along with George Stephanopouls Immediately said there was a Tea Party Member named James Holmes in Aurora as if to say Tea Party people are Gun crazed! Too bad the one he talked about was a 52 year old hispanic man, not much in common with the maniac shooter! Ass Whole!

I am convinced that the libtard reporters already knew the shooter is an Obama supporter and an Occupier. So it was a despicable attempt to divert the blame to the Tea Party.
                          Very interesting...

This unfortunate incident got me to thinking (I know a dangerous thing). It was reported that the nut job had a vest and ballistics helmet on. Short of a five-seven with AP rounds is there any standard handgun round that would have stopped him? Maybe a .357 sig?
