Yeah, We don't have to wonder where ol Crockett stands on the 2A...

We do have some very Liberal Dems down here. They have choughed up millions to Obama's campain. He knows he won't carry the state at election and our Gov Perry and Obama are best discribed as "Fire & Gas-o-line".
Texans as a group, do not like the Washington tone... The "cause we say-so" and "whatever scares us, you can't do...".
They sit in their homes way up in Virgina and Maryland 1500 miles from the border and tell us how we are suppose to feel about the immigration issues. As a citizen Texan, I listen to the Rio Grand ranchers and farmers with great alarm. I understand the thought process that if Washington won't help Americans with such dangerous issues then we as a state must do it ourselves, as best we can. If some deep feeling Democrate in New York wants to shake his finger at us and call us names...
Well I can live with that...
...and the majority of my fellow Texans can too!
I have many issues with the DC crowd beyond this single example. I do not wish to break away and we all support the USA. I know we pray for our DC leadership every Sunday, right before we pass the offering plate.
    God bless-um

    "Nope" I said, "just prepared".

My #2 son lived in Dallas for two years. When I visited him everyone that I met made me feel welcome. If I could figure out how to relocate Lake Erie I'd move there in a heartbeat.

Texas has many lakes that although not as big as Erie are far more beautiful.

Do any of your Texas lakes hold walleye or steelhead trout? Do you ever lose sight of the shoreline? Have you ever seen 30 foot waves on a Texas lake? I rest my case.

My dad was stationed at K.I.Sawyer AFB in the U.P. from 71 to 75. I did love all the lakes and have gone swimming in the great lakes. Burrrrr... even in July.

But we were always Texans and as soon as I could, I came home.

I personally live living in Texas. The question you have to ask here is who doesn't have a gun. Heck..Governor Perry runs with a gun and is a well known fact that he has a CHL. He has been known to kill a coyote at least once and I think it was Colt that made a special addition gun just for that occasion....

Texas lakes also were/are not polluted with industrial waste. Your case needs a rest. If you want to see a Truly Great Lake all you need do is cast your eye over Lake Superior.

I remember when this came out, they took a lot of heat from the scumbag lamestream media with their usual "racist" charge. Think that terrorist group cair had them in their crosshairs over it at the time. I notice the coward leftists who've been calling and threatening the small business who owners who BUILT THEIR OWN BUSINESSES don't pull this crap with Conservatives armed and ready to pound them.

Lake Erie produces more fish annually than the other four Great Lakes combined. The western basin of Lake Erie is the walleye capital of the world. The Bass Islands were named for the abundance of small mouth bass. Superior is superior in size only.

Perry was my first choice for president. Straight forward and the most conservative of the candidates.

The best fishing I ever did was on a lake in the upper peninsula. Norther Pike and Walleye, now those fish put up a fight. Caught alot of bass there too. Down here the reservoirs are nice but they face alot of fishing pressure. I'm simply not a good enough fisherman to be successful here.
I remember fighting a pike at the Greenwood (?) reservoir back in the early 70's. Me and that fish fought it out for over an hour before I landed him. The lake had a slot rule at the time and no amount of streaching could make him the 1/4in longer he had to be to keep him. I had a freind who was learnind taxadermy back then and I was ready to mount that fish... Hope he lived a long life.
You can lose sight of the shore on Lake Buchanan (hour and a half west of Austin), but that said, its no lake Erie... Lots of cactus growing along the lake shore too.
No Ice fishing here though, ever.

Seriously....we as Texans at jlottmc and I didn't think he was ready to be in Washington. He is governor here in Texas but doesnt do anything. There were far better candidates thann Gov. Perry.

I like Governor Perry, especially his stance on gun controll, but he definitely lacks on education for Texasans. But that is another story.

He was way out of his league in his bid for President. He looked like a dumb ass in his debates and frankly made Texas look bad. I'd be surprised if he gets elected Governor again!
