"Laws that forbid the carrying of arms disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes. Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man."

Thanks Costanza I hate to even bring this up I should have just checked with him before I sent anything but I had good intentions of a suprise. I should probably just sit back and hope to hear from Mr. Soldier and see what's going on and hope I didn't get him or myself in some hot water somehow. So if you see this MO let me know what's up.Originally posted by Tinman507 View PostTemporary Duty, sorry

What do you mean you sent to a US address? Was it an APO (military) address, or was it to a physical US address? There's at least one company I know of that accepts mail bound for military members and forwards it to them. Was the address in Iowa, by chance? If so, that would explain why someone might have signed for the package - they've accepted it but have not yet forwarded it.
In any case, I wouldn't stress too much about getting yourself or anyone else in trouble. I would think the ammo would just be confiscated if it were discovered.

Through email I had been given a home address to use when I sent a present last december. Just used same address this week without asking so that he could have a nice completely random suprise waiting one day....no idea if he still technically lives there I wasn't thinking like that I just got excited for him about opening up a big box of fun and didn't consider all the possibilities. So last thing I want to do is give away personal info about someone without their consent.....I just don't want to see a well-intentioned gesture cause a person huge issues through no fault of their own. I need to just shut up now and hope whomever accepted the package understands. In this day and age can you imagine if the wrong person opened that and took it as some kind of threat or an anti-gun person got it and acted as if it was a bomb that might explode? See what I mean? Sounds insane but honestly just depends on who is on the receiving end there. My bad I feel terrible.Originally posted by BimmerBob View PostWhat do you mean you sent to a US address? I've got to temporarily move to an extended stay for a few weeks due to this ()*&(*&( republican convention.Originally posted by MO_Soldier View PostJust in Japan on a mission and thought I'd stop in to say hi from overseas. Hope everyone is doing well!
Nut jobs from everywhere likely to swarm Tampa Fl.
There was an attempt to temporarily revoke everyone's carry permits in the Tampa city limits during the convention.
I think the Governor basically said hell no.
Got to love the South.
Car is near death.
I made the mistake of holding and dry firing a HK P30 40 LEM.
Guess what happened next - LOL!
After the convention I'll likely break down and get a Toyota 4x4 early.
Tired of stressing over the wounded and bleeding Honda.
I love the Japanese culture.
Love the food.
I'm a 3rd degree black belt in Hapkido, the Korean version of Aikido.
Plus Japanese girls just take my breath away.
Have fun, be safe and pictures, pictures, pictures.

Ok thanks. In this day and age without stopping to think about who may be on the other end I just panicked a bit there picturing a person who thinks guns go off every time when you drop them like in the movies opening that and calling the police like it was somehow a terrorist threat or something. So wow did my brain start spinning arouind there thinking of how I just destroyed both of our lives with every worst case scenario you could think of. Stay safe.
