Be careful what you shoot underwater. I believe Mythbusters proved that the slower the projectile the farther it will go underwater. Something to do with surface tension.

As I recall an episode of Sea Hunt had him testing handguns underwater and I believe he was doing target practice at 25 feet with a 38.
