Believe it or not there's a gun shop up in Oak Harbor "Greens" and they have an old rotary dial phone on the end of the counter.

Mom works the counter or did when I was last there a few years back. She still used it. Had a push button she hated in the back that they had to have because some vendors you had to push numbers for extensions and stuff and the dial wouldn't do it.

I love that shop, about a 1/4" of dust on everything, real small, has an outdoor range out back. A rocking chair in each of the 4 or 5 aisles in the store. Nice.

sounds like my ol business. We had an old coke cooler that just cooled water so the bottles set in there like little heart ons.(7 oz size) Back then coke bottles had the name of the bottle maker on the bottom and we used to at times draw bottles and the one that was the farthest away bought.We rolled it outside every day and then rolled it back insdie every evening.. Our bottle cases back then was all wood to.
damn those were the good ol days.

Vermont may very well have been the first, but is not the only state to implement concealed carry without a permit.

My Grandpa whittled that wood candlestick phone on the left in the 1930s - he owned & ran a small rural telephone company starting in WWI that was entirely battery operated.
When the town was electrified, he disconnected the battery boxes off all the wall telephones.

I never understood the logic of needing a permit to exercise a right. It's a point over which I have been at odds with the NRA for a long time. If the right to keep and bear arms is a God given constitutional right, why do I need a permit to carry. Permits can be taken away. I hope that the issue gets decided by the Supreme Court before it's remodeled any further by Obama.

My thoughts as well. Permit = you have to have permission. The last time I looked, the Bill of Rights was the only OK I needed to carry.

I've been telling my liberal friends that since they don't believe a photo ID is necessary to vote, then I shouldn't have to show one to buy a gun or carry it.
