Anyone have a C&R-03 BATFE License?
I have a couple of questions to someone with experience with this license.

That notch in the rail is supposed to be there

"Laws that forbid the carrying of arms disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes. Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man."
    --Thomas Jefferson (1764).

      Hey Deacon, thanks!

I have my C&R03 and purchased a Mosin Nagant carbine for my son for Christmas. It's the first time I've used the license.

Since it's a gift, do I need to do anything special besides logging it in and out of my Bound Book? Do I need to do a formal transfer at a FFL01 licensee?

I'm pretty sure I can do that, just wanted confirmation from someone else. Typical of Government, it's a total maze to get a real answer from them.

Unless your state has a law stating it has to go through a FFL, no you do not as long as your son is legal to own the gun. Just log it in your bound book.
