Yeah, about right. This is like when the current admins finally killed our sale of 66 block 40 F-16 fighters to Taiwan (2009) because it would upset China...
Now note, there is not enough opium to be smoked in all of mainland China to make any of Chinas leaders belive that the island nation of Taiwan could use 66 F-16s to invade the mainland.
If China has zero intentions of ever attacking Taiwan, then they should chortle about Taiwans crazy waste of money for a defence they do not need.
The Obuma admin has finally awakend to the reality that we are on the hook to come to Taiwans aid in the event of war and just maybe they need enough modern wepons to hang on till we can get there. We are upgrading their old block 20/30s and are begining to deal on some new block 50 F-16s. About time I'll say.
China will stand before you and say they want peace, but everything else they do in the region says otherwise, in a loud booming voice.
