I must be the oddball. I tried a Crossbreed-style holster and it had no advantage for me over my $8 Ace Case, so I went back to the Ace.

Nope, me too. So we are both odd or we are on to something

I just could never get to a point where I could tolerate the time/effort to get the pancake thing on. I tried for awhile, just never became comfortable w/ one. Didn't like the clips showing, didn't like having two clips to get on, just all in all didn't not find it quick-n-easy. With the Remora, or even stuff with a single clip like my Comp-Tac Infidel (which I've sold in favor of the Remora), I can always just grab-n-go. No effort.

Well if you only want one clip, I like Sam Hanks holsters off e-bay....about $42.00 simple on simple off and very thin.

Similar to the Remora, I have a Sticky Holster for my Glock 19 that I use quite often. It is "tackier" than the Remora and stays put, no clips. I even tried it with elastic waste lounge pants. Didn't budge going up and down my stairs. It is soft, and does not chafe. I carry it at about 4'oclock.

Jeepster, can you provide a link to those holsters on eBay?
            Very interesting...

Left side, right side, appendix, etc. Belt loops are no issue. Put it anywhere.

I now carry both my TP9 and my Sig P250C in a Remora and have no issues w/ comfort, weight, etc. I find it so comfortable and load bearing that I don't even carry my P9 much anymore.
OK...for the slow among us...you slip the Remora IWB with no clip or securing mechanism?

How does it stay in place?

the material on the outside "tacks" to the body/clothes. looks like you only need mild pressure from your belt or pants (quite a few comments about people successfully wearing them sans belt) and it stays in place just fine.

this might help you visualize it:

Does it feel much different carrying a 3" 1911 IWB than a Kahr PM40? Is a 3" 1911 at all uncomfortable carrying IWB?

Depends on make of 1911, most are a lot heavier than a Kahr. My Para PDA is pretty light, but still heavier. In a carry gun weight matters!

The 1911 3" is a heavy gun, I have a Remora for my Kimber Ultra Tactical II, but don't like the feeling, however, with the CM9 the Remora works very nice. Check Milt Sparks(long wait) holsters, they are very good, IWB or OWB.

Yea the 1911 I am considering for concealed carry is a Kimber Ultra CDP II and I would carry IWB, but I am also considering OWB if IWB would be to uncomfortable.

what the other folks posted about how it works. Tacky surface stays in place with slight pressure. I don't wear it against my skin often...and it stays put fine between tshirt and pants/belt. some folks say it can be uncomfortable on the skin but I don't mind it when I have to carry that way.

far as heavy guns like a 1911, dunno about something THAT heavy. But my 25-26oz, prob 30-32 loaded SIG P250 compact is not a problem. biggest ish with a 1911 is gonna be the hammer and carrying cocked and locked. Dunno that I'd want a Remora for that...

Carrying any size of 1911 you definitely need a holster that covers the thumb safety and has a strap between the hammer and frame. Carrying a 1911 in a IWB is one of the easier guns, as it is flat and not as thick as many [most?] double stack guns.

I agree with a gun with the weight of a 1911 I would get a Theis
