We went to our semi local (bout an hour away) Sportsman Show today. Boats, campers, all kind of guide services, that kind of stuff, tons of fishing stuff of course.
Amongst all that darned if there wasn't a Savage rifle booth. Had several of the different models, the little youth one they came out with recently.
Nothing remotely close to what you got.
There was one, I think it was a 10 too, that did have cut checkering and pretty decent wood, no forend caps and not in the same league in the pretty department.
I think they're working hard at getting into the game as a major player again. I've always kind of leaned towards them but may kind of turn up their nose at them. Still about the most accurate out of the box rifle going.http://bawanna45.wix.com/bawannas-grip-emporium#!

Since I like to hit what I'm aiming at I'd have to go with a bolt action. I know, I know, someone is going to tell me that the 1903 Springfield was the assault weapon of it's day, but then so was the flint lock musket. Diane Feinstein is either incredibly stupid or incredibly evil and I'm fairly certain that she isn't evil. So what's a man to do? I think I'll stick to my guns.Never trust anyone who doesn't trust you to own a gun.

All of the above and many of each. Then again I may have been accused of liking guns.Attitude: it takes 43 muscles to frown, 17 to smile...and 3 for proper trigger squeeze.
The olive branch is considered a symbol of peace, and good will. Last time I checked, it's still a switch.

I fell out of favor with them because of their first adjustable trigger. It was possible to make it too light and get a rifle to slam fire with little effort. I lost a good friend to that or so the official story goes. Knowing him and his circumstances better than the official story though, I know what happened.Attitude: it takes 43 muscles to frown, 17 to smile...and 3 for proper trigger squeeze.

I'm sure that DF would consider my 45 carbine an assault weapon even if it's only a ten shot semi. It looks sorta mean and that's her criteria.
