That notch in the rail is supposed to be there
"Laws that forbid the carrying of arms disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes. Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man."

It's been a pretty emotional week for the residents...I watched the memorial service off and on the whole time it was one. The first responders showed how TX does memorial services. There was miles and miles of fire trucks, and EMS for the procession...My only problem with the services was the POS POTUS who was 30 minutes late for the service. He was in Dallas for GW's Library Opening Thursday morning, which was at 10, ended at 11:30. The memorial service was at 2 in West. He flew into Love Field (SW Air HQ) on Air Force One Wed night, and took Marine One to West after the Library Opening. I realize he toured the town by helicopter before the services, but it takes about an hour to get from DFW to West. That was disrespectful to the families and fellow red brothers to be late. All the other TX diginitaries (Gov Perry, Senators, House Reps) who were also at the Bush Library dedication managed to make it there on time. I was telling jlottmc that POTUS was just a distraction.

May they rest in peace, our prays remain with the families dealing with this loss.
To those who answer that call, my respect and appreciation. May they always know they have our prayers.
God Bless them.I was once asked if I was "a paranoid for carrying my Kahr".
"Nope" I said, "just prepared".
" prepared for what" he asked?
"more stuff than you are"
