  • Popped my gun's cherry

Just got home from taking my new CM9 out for the first time. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I did end up injuring myself once. I was responding to a smart alec remark my husband made as I was putting a fresh mag in and I managed to pinch my hand. Got a nice blood blister from it. The checkering on the handle did make my hand a bit sore, but I did better with it than I expected to. Only my second time shooting a handgun and I managed to land 10 of my first 13 rounds on the target paper. I'm a bit proud of myself. I went through 200 rounds with it and then my husband did 50. Had a lot of fun and I am looking forward to going out again. Meant to get pictures, but my husband left the camera at home (with his wallet). After I get it cleaned up I will get a picture of the gun with my fancy shmancy hot pink holster

Sounds like you had a good time and the gun worked without fail. These are the kind of reports we like to hear.

BTW- welcome to the forum. I held off on the initial welcomes as you were getting pretty involved with our fearless leader. LOL!

Awesome report! Sorry about the injury. You may have to leave the hubby at home next time...

From the title of your thread to its content, you seem like a neat lady. Belated welcome and enjoy that gun.

Wow, that was quite a first time outing. But then you youngsters are always showing off. 200 rounds would tire me out. The firing's not the hard part, it's trying to be careful to actually hit something. Glad everything went well. That's the way Kahrs are supposed to function.

It was definitely fun. Although I think I may need to leave the husband at home. He was a bit distracting.

The only casualty from the day was my pants. At one point, I bent down to pick something up and ripped them clear up the seam. I suppose the fact that I have had these pants for 10 years helped with that.

RIP Faded Levi's. You were good pants.

I suppose pictures of that would be out of the question.

Oh that's right, hubby left the camera at home. Maybe next time.

Popped my gun's cherry, what kind of talk is that for a lady anyhow?

I was appalled at the title, appalled I tell you.

And if you believe that I'll babysit free till your kids are 25.

Ah yes, the old left my wallet at home trick. I've used that ploy myself.

Now when have I ever said I was a lady? I was raised in Lewis County. They don't make ladies there.

And I will take a babysitter anytime. Lord knows after staying with these 3 24/7 I could use a break.

My bad! I treat the ladies as ladies until proven otherwise. Kind of a relief, now I can relax and be myself.

Great job mama! I love hearing about women shooters. Don't worry about that minor injury, that's how we learn. Good luck with your gun.

HAHA! I love it. Pictures like that make me happy.

My kids have already driven me to another cup of coffee. I might have to make a half pot. I'm thinking an impromptu dance party might get them ready for nap. Naptime for the kids means a moment to myself for me.

Thank you, kahrseye. I used to be anti-gun and I realize now that it was because I did not understand them and was afraid of them. I am slowly seeing that as long as I know what I am doing, I have nothing to be afraid of. I think having it and knowing what I am doing with it will go a long way in helping me to be a better me.
