Agreed. Though I disagree with the verdict, the justice system has done its job, and a decision has been made.

Hopefully people will respect that decision, though I fear there will be repercussions.

Was there ever a doubt? The left and the Black Racists really won. For Zimmerman was really badly punished. He was wrongly imprisoned and punished severely in many ways for "politically correct" reasons. He did some stupid things, but he had to defend himself and that's still legal. The press and the politicians dragged this through the courts trying to get the "justice" they demanded... which was anything BUT just. Just look at the cost to the taxpayers... but the lawyers and the politicians don't care. The taxpayers foot the bill and race relations take another big hit. The race baiters and pandering politicians didn't get everything that they wanted, but they did further the negative causes they champion.

A would be or wannabe gangsta is dead... and a good guy who sought to protect his neighborhood is left with a ruined life and must forever try to escape those who would see him punished... as promoted by the race baiters and the fawning press who portrayed Trayvon Martin as an innocent youth... an innocent victim of Zimmerman's racism.

No one won, but a greater tragedy was prevented in that Zimmerman wasn't falsely convicted and sentenced to prison... not that he will be any freer when he is released.

His life is totally ruined and he'll have to become an anonymous entity and try to stay beyond the reach of those who will doubtlessly seek to avenge Trayvon.

Some of the comments made here were borderline!! Not helping race relations as well..Anyway, I also agree the media did not help either sides cause. Cases like this open a whole other can of worms...I just read our Castle Doctrine in PA. Clearly states that you have the right to use deadly force ONLY in imminent danger of death or serious bodily injury, sexual assault, or kidnapping. AND that person your using force against produces a firearm (real or fake) or any other instrument that can be lethal.

This case was only brought forward because of race. Zimmerman should never have been charged. The state had no case. No one won. Both Zimmerman and Martin lost. It's my hope that society can profit from the loss. The biggest losers were the liberal media and the race pimps who tried to make this a racial issue.

Zimmerman's actions went above and beyond any "mandate" of the neighborhood watch... but... he WAS attacked and in the end chose to defend himself... as is his RIGHT. This had nothing to do with the concept of stand your ground... or the Castle Doctine. At that point he was fearing that he was becoming one with the ground and tried to prevent his demise... justifiably!

The police saw that... and the physcial evidence supported Zimmerman... as did eyewitnesses... but race baiters and the liberal press were outraged and fomented racist outrage... fanning the flames of racism... and politicians intervened and tried to bring about "social justice"... or in this case... some kind of legal LYNCHING! Fortunately the jury saw the truth and rendered a just verdict.

Nothing that Zimmerman did was illegal. The fact that he went beyond any "mandate" of the neighborhood watch shows his true character. And there is absolutely nothing wrong with any individual who wants to serve his community as a police officer. Zimmerman did what a lot of you don't have the guts to do.

As I watch the liberal news outlets covering the verdict, it strikes me that all of these lily white analysts saying how they dont understand how this country can still be so racist. The funny thing is that these very people saying this live in park avenue apartments and gated communities and do not have to deal with crime on a regular basis. If they are that concerned they should come live in the south, where section 8 housing has ruined every good neighborhood.

The Neighborhood Watch rules mandate NO weapons. They watch and call the police to report suspicious activities or individuals. That wasn't enough for Zimmerman and he was armed and disregarded the 911 operator's instructions to NOT follow the "suspect".

I'm my own "neighborhood watch" and there's no way I'm NOT going to be armed and confront anyone. I have acted in such a capacity with instructions from the officer in charge of security in the park behind my home. I did NOT pretend to be a cop, but I was armed... the park was a sometime hangout for drug dealing. I had specific instructions and never had a problem confronting trespassers after hours. It WAS comforting that I had my P12 with me, but I certainly wasn't wanting to cause any dangerous confrontations.

I agree. In today's racial and political climate he was overaggressive. But, 30 years ago anybody lurking in the shadows around houses would have got their a** beat and no police would have been called.
