  • A couple new (to me) acquisitions...

As was recently mentioned, I lost my dad to a drunk driver last month. As such, a couple of his guns have been added to my slowly growing collection.

First, his CW9 which he bought earlier this year. Only 50 rounds through it so far, as he didn't get to the range very often. He and I were taking classes together for IL's upcoming conceal carry, and this was his choice in a carry gun. He absolutely loved my CM40, but wanted something with a bit more grip and a bit less recoil.

Second is his S&W Model 66-1 .357 Magnum. I don't know much of the gun's history, but based on the serial number, it was likely made in 79. It is a sweet shooter and has a hair trigger when shot single action. I chose this one because it was his favorite of all his guns.

He also had a Marlin lever action 30-30 that I wouldn't mind having, but it would more than likely just be a safe queen... So if any other family members would get any actual use from it, they can have it. Otherwise, it will end up in my collection as well.

Other various shotguns, rifles and revolvers that I have no need for / interest in can go to my step-brother and his sons.

Sorry for the crappy picture, but the camera on my phone pretty much sucks.

Very sorry to hear that you lost your father. I know how much my father meant to me. His guns will remind you of him every time you shoot them.

That S&W is referred to as a P&R gun, meaning it was built when they were still "pinning" the barrels and the cylinders were "recessed" for the cartridge rims. That is a beautiful example of one.

Sorry to hear of your loss. My Dad passed away in August. I miss him.

The 66 is one of my favorites also - finding one with a good trigger is even better.

Good thing those beauties are stainless - after I drooled all over my screen.

Glock, I'm sorry to hear about your Dad. I said good-bye to mine 4 years ago. I'm glad you have his guns, though, as they will remind you of him every time you see them or hold them or shoot them.

My 65-3 3" heavy barrel 357 is an outstanding revolver.
Sounds like your new K-Frame is a Special K too.
