Will KAHR fit a 1911 holster

[8th SPS USAF]

I heard that KAHR's will work in a 1911 holster. I do not own either
1911 or 1911 holster. I would guess Officers/Com?

I understand some will work, I think the ones generally made for 1911's not necessarily the ones for a specific type. I hope you understand what I'm trying to say.

Example:
Tuck-able Holster - Leather - Ace Case

Depending on size of 1911 one of these could work, I know J works well with Kahr.....

Most of the leather holsters will fit, but not the Kydex style, because the Kahr trigger guards are much thicker than the 1911 styles.

In my experience I've found what Vinnie said to be true. Some of the simple 1911 leather belt slides work pretty good.

I have a Kahr k-40 and have used it in a Milt Sparks Summer special

It leaves about 1 to 1 1/2 " empty at the bottom.

If I were to buy one just for the Kahr I would get this:


I have one for my sig and it is great very confortable. Big Bucks and long wait.

A long time ago I had a K40. It fit perfectly in a Kramer Vertical Belt Scabbard. I currently carry a PM9 as a backup in a Fobus ankle holster made for the 1911.

I was in Sportsman warehouse the other day, they have a Ross Leather slide stamped for 1911 on sale for just $39 (with suede lining), out of curiosity I tried it with the PM9 I had with me, it fits but has a very slight wiggle. I pass.

I have a Galco Yaqui slide for a 1911 that also fits my Kahrs. The adjustment screws only need to be tightened a little. I have not tried an IWB holster. I would always recomend an IWB designed for a specific firearm.

Well, duh.....it just occured to me that I ought to check this out. Found two old 1911 Dillon belt slide holsters in "the holster box" that fit my Kahrs perfectly! The Galcos I came across don't though.

My CW9 fits a Don Hume 1911 slide perfectly. 1911 won't fit in the Hume clip on IWB though.

My cw 40 rides in a 3 inch colt commander iwb leather holster. So yes for me it works.
