  • What a weekend!

So I knew starting out this weekend would be busy. It's NASCAR weekend at Texas Motor Speedway. Almost the whole clan has spent the week camping out at the track and we have several family members in from out of state.
Mix enough family, booze and old jalousies, well, then you have the recipe for a lot of family drama. Had plenty of that action this week.
Add to that, all the stuff of normal life and wow what a week.
The best thing about the weekend showed up at 0542 this morning with the birth of Grandson #2. Little Will came in three weeks early, but healthy and noisy.
Grandpa was up at 1am and at the hospital with Grandma and Grandson one by 2am. Home at 0730 for a shower and change of clothes, then off to the gunshow with the Son-in-law by 10am. Met the ladies with Grandson one for lunch at 1pm. Met up with the wife's sister and husband to transfer some goods and services by 3pm. Next we all head back to the hospital by 4:30 for visiting hours with new Mom, Dad and little Will till they chased us out for baby feeding. At last we were home finally at 7:30.
I is tired! I is also proud and happy. Great times are these...
So folks, welcome young Will to the human family today and If you are of a mind to, send up a prayer of thanksgiving for our little blessing this night.

    Thanks all. Goodnight

I was once asked if I was "a paranoid for carrying my Kahr".
    "Nope" I said, "just prepared".
" prepared for what" he asked?
    "more stuff than you are"
    God Bless our Troups!

                              Thanks to everyone.

Mom and young Will are home already. He is a squeaker and very animated. With my first Grandson, Mom was in the hospital for three weeks before, had a complex and risky birth five weeks early and then was in the hospital for two weeks after with additional surgery...
Those were rough, uncertain times and they had Grandma and I caring for a new born for the first couple of weeks. No matter how crazy this last week/weekend was it was waaaay easier and more joyous than we had with the birth of the first.
Grandpa and Grandson One have been hanging tight for the last two days, he is quite the ring-tailed tooter. I believe he is going to make a wonderful big brother.
Good night all and shuuuuush the babies are finally asleep!
I was once asked if I was "a paranoid for carrying my Kahr".
