  • Old Imported Whiskey

Sorting through some stuff at Dad's house last night with my brother (excellent way of keeping his death fresh in my mind, but it has to be done).

Anyway, went through the liquor cabinet... Some bottles of Jack, Captain Morgan... couple bottles of various tequila..

In the back were 3 bottles of Canadian Club Whiskey. Two are fairly new, only one of the newer bottles opened. I sampled a taste, and it's pretty good. But the third bottle is old. It has a federal revenue tax stamp dated 1956 (I assume this is when it was imported), but the label says the maker was Hiram Walker & Sons, Limited, which implies it was bottled before the company merged and changed its name to Hiram Walker-Gooderham & Worts Ltd. in 1926.

It's been opened, but very little has been drunk (drank?). I haven't tasted from this bottle yet...

I have an unopened bottle of twenty year old Southern Comfort. I've been contemplating changing that unopened status.

The only thing better than having all the guns and ammo you'd ever need would be being able to shoot it all off the back porch.

My dads favorite blended was CC back in his days. Always had a case of it.
