  • Those that lube with synthetic motor oil

What weight synthetic motor oil do you use?
I'm not wanting to start a debate on what lube is best just wanting to know what weight people use. Thanks

I am sure damn near any otor oil will work in a gun but I have always felt that one should leave motor oils n egines and not really in guns. Lot of heat buld up in engines plus extreme friction so viscosity and some of the additives are absolutely necessary in a engine. In a firearm just not so. IMO why not just stick with a gun oil and be done wth it, assume that maybe they have done some research and testing and know what is better than just grabbing a can of tor oil. Just my 21 cents on this..

I have been using 0w30 German Castrol in my vehicles for years....You can get it at Auto Zone or Pep Boys and it must say European formula on the front and made in Germany on the back of the bottle....This is probably the best motor oil you can buy and it's made for Porsche. Audi, Mercedes Benz and VW which has one of the highest motor oil requirments of any auto maker....

If you want to know the real deal about motor oil go to WWW.bobistheoilguy.com this site will tell you everything you would ever possibly want to know about any type of lubricants....Some of the guys on that site need a life but thats where I learned about "German Castrol" which has a huge following....It doesn't cost any more than any other synthetic oil but it's one of the best...If you go to a porsche dealer and buy a quart it's like 20 bucks but at Auto Zone it's $9.00 like all the other quality synthetic oils...I've been using it in my cars for years and my guns for just as long...Works great....

My Porsche, Audi and Mercedes right under the hood recommend Mobil One 0W-40. I run Mobil V-Twin in my Harleys and love the product. Course in our trie and service business we sold Mobil products for 69 years to. Alittle prejudice I guess..

I run 0W-30 in my CM9. I put it on with a Q-tip and wipe it off with a cleaning patch. A very light film of oil is all that you need.

I bet ur gun would run dry as good even. Just rub u finner along side of ur nose and it will dothe sae thing as 0w-30. Just sayin. IMO ur gun is very well broken in and anything from butter to mazola oil would do the same thing. I would think butter would work good that way if the BG takes ur gun away form u and makes u eat it, then the tase is far betrter than 0w-30. Just sayin

                  Liston to ol jocko muggs..
