  • Gun Inventory Program Wanted

I have been looking for a gun inventory program to keep track of my guns. Hopefully a FREE program but all of them I have seen are limit 10 guns. I am looking for something around 30.

    Any suggestions.

I just built my own on an excel spreadsheet.

I just list make and model and serial number, what I originally paid and where I got it, what I figure it's value is. Mostly so if I cross the river the wife knows how much she'll have to do her grieving in the Bahama's.

I highlight the line and note on the few I sell or usually give away.

I also add stuff like extra barrels for shotguns or scopes or special stuff added on.

The problem with most ready made programs is they have too many parameters that you can't control. You do one thing another has to happen even if you don't want it to.

You could create the form and fill in the blanks by hand I guess.

I consider it bait for the Feds. Its just on my computer, not sent anywhere,I guess a hacker could get too it.

I actually have it saved on two thumb drives I keep on me. I could delete it I guess in the computer but never thought of it before.

Now your making me paranoid too. Ok I already was paranoid. Anyone who isn't better wake up soon before it's too late.

I got a hand-drawn map with all the places I have guns buried in my back yard. "X" marks the spot. Just sayin'.

Have you contacted Eric the Holder. I'm sure he has a wonderful gun inventory program that would fix you right up.

I just fill the serial numbers and all other markings with baby powder and take pics (images) of both sides of every gun...done

Even shoot a vid...but don't have your wife help you, and never take all your guns out and display them together

And if you're anal about the feds, put the images on a thumb drive and hide it in a body cavity

              Edited to add:
Put your drivers license in the pic with the serial number as proof of ownership

I typed up a list of my gun on and old Remington Rand and keep it hidden in my gun safe. No cyber trail. Jocko did the same thing, but can't read what he wrote.
