  • Bawanna finally gets to the range and summe vacation.

Got home from vacation yesterday evening. Caught a lot of bass, and a lot of trout and as a bonus got to the range twice!
The second time just me and my wife. Had the whole place to ourselves. It was incredible. Even though it was hot, the covered area provided enough shade that we were quite comfy.

    Had a great time.
I finally was able to shoot my Remington R1 and it never missed a beat.
My first attempt at posting a video so fingers crossed.

This was the result of the previous video, good for me.

I was in fact aiming for the vulture and not the horse but I got nothing to back that up with.

Will post this and see if it works. Then try some more pictures.

    A few bass to clean.

And a friends Mini Schnauzer. Good dog and he's my pal. Him and my puppy took awhile to warm up to each other but they didn't tear each other up.

The wife unlimbering her Smith 638. Notice the huge crowd? She does not enjoy shooting if anyone else is around at all. It was perfect. Even our own people, sons, friends etc add stress. She was great help hauling stuff in and setting up etc too. Just a get r dun gal that day.

She shot my Uberti Birdshead 45 Colt and got along well with it too. Along with her Ruger SP101 22. She really liked my CZ452 22 rifle, first time out for it too and she shot nearly a 100 of my precious 22's through that. It's a keeper.
I discovered that I shoot the Uberti better with one hand than I do with a two hand hold. Guess it's true I was born a 100 years too late.

And a few trout to clean. Vacationing is hard work.

Something about a birdshead grip begs to be shot one handed. Sounds like a great time. Welcome back!!

Might as well post some more pics while I remember how to do it.

                The children and Daisy.

First shot of Daisy standing still for once. I thought she would be a nuisance over there but she did just fine. Even jumped off the dock, I don't think she knew it was water till she went under but she swam. Was on a leash so I could reel her in anytime.

Action photos in my shrimp boat.

                Beautiful country.

                Venison, it's what's for dinner.

Rifle range on the upper far end, pistol range below. ALL MINE by myself.

Down range on pistol. Rifle range is 200yard but can stretch 275 if you climb the bank.

Thanks for sharing. I look forward to seeing your vacation pics each year. Looks like you have a better vacation than I do. And that is a good mess of fish too.
The only thing better than having all the guns and ammo you'd ever need would be being able to shoot it all off the back porch.

Glad you had such a great vacation! This side of the state is fun. A change of address might make it like being on vacation all the time. Great looking family and that pup is a keeper.
